A New Dawn Is Breaking Welcome to "Genos" "Genos", the name Yamaha have given to its brand new top of the range home keyboard, is about to reveal itself in truly spectacular manner, as we prepare for the most eagerly awaited new product in years. Replacing the "Tyros" series of keyboards was always going to be a hard act to follow and, although early reports suggested a Tyros 6 model would be launched, Yamaha had bigger and better plans in mind. Changing the name to "Genos" has been seen as a clear statement that this new keyboard is not merely an upgrade from Tyros 5, but a massive raising of the bar for the home keyboard market. Initial Yamaha corporate teaser videos showed the Genos in a professional studio and, it has to be said, this sent us and many other Yamaha dealers into a worried frenzy that the new instrument wasn't aimed at the traditional home player any more. However, having seen, heard and played the instrument personally, we can confirm that trust in Yamaha's vision has been 100% restored. Genos manages to do something that no other home keyboard has ever done before, and the teaser videos now make more sense, as here we have an instrument that produces Professional quality sounds & styles, but in a manner that any home player will feel at home with. people with powerful high fidelity sound, no need for a big PA system.
The Great new "Playlist" feature is going to be a hit with home players. "Imagine MusicFinder fitted with a very large Turbo', was how one of the Yamaha product specialists
summed it up. Playlist not only sets Genos up with all the sounds and styles you need forone of the hundreds of in built tunes (just as Music Finder did) but it now also gives you the
most relevant musical help for that piece of music, be it a score to play from, the chordsequence or the words to the tune., made even easier by the massive touch screen!
There is even more good news for Tyros owners moving up to the new instrument, asGenos is instantly compatible with Tyros 5 and 4 registrations, and even capable of readingTyros 3 and 2 files.
