As the end of our Faith Formation year has just happened, I want to extend my sincere thanks and appreciation to all who make our program of Catechesis such a successful and fruitful ministry for our children, youth, and adults in it and for our parish-at-large. Our Catechists and Youth Team Leaders spend untold hours in preparation and teaching time each weekend and during the week in order to pass on the Catholic faith and I know that I join all of our parents and parishioners in offering our collective appreciation. The time, energy and love that comprises those who take on this ministry is not only a powerful sign of Christian Discipleship. Thank you one-and-all who serve Christ in our programs and parish!
We are sad to say good-bye to our music director, Anthony Baron. We have appreciated and enjoyed his talents over the past year and he will be greatly missed. Anthony is moving to Vero Beach so his last week end with us will be May 26th and 27th. Anthony, May the blessing of God be with you and your family always. Thank You so much for being part of Holy Spirit and Remember you will always have friends and a home here, our doors will forever be open to you! Love, Holy Spirit Community, Choir and Staff!

ALBERT JAMES HACKL, 92
died May 12, 2018. Jim is survived by his devoted wife of 67 yrs, Christine (Magruder) Hackl. Jim was
born in Bartow and attended public schools, Jim graduated from high school in 1943, at the height of
WWII. He was accepted in the Navy V12, college training program and sent to Georgia Tech. The war
ended prior to Jim’s graduation as a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering. At age of 20, Jim was released
from active duty as an Ensign in the Navy in 1946 at which time he joined the Trane Company,
manufacturers of air conditioning/ heating equipment as a sales engineering trainee. After earlier
assignments, Jim was sent to Jackson, Mississippi to open a sales office for Trane. It was there that Jim
met, wooed and then won the hand of Christine. They were married November 22, 1950 in St. Peter’s Catholic Church. Shortly after their
marriage, Jim was recalled to active duty by the Navy during the Korean War. Upon release from active duty, Jim returned to the air conditioning
industry with The Trane Company and Sudebaker-Worthington Corporation, lastly as President of its Air Conditioning Division and Corporate
Group Vice – President. Jim, Christine and their growing family made their homes in Dallas, Texas, La- Crosse, WI, and Summit, NJ. In 1968 the
family moved to Indianapolis, Indiana as Jim made a career change from an engineering products industry to becoming President and C.E.O. of
Herff Jones Company. During his tenure, Herff Jones achieved significant growth from a small, publicly held company to a national leader in its
industry with multiple manufacturing plants. Jim further initiated and personally directed Herff Jones’ merger with Carnation Co. Upon retirement
from Herff Jones in 1995, Jim established a family partnership, for the purchase and operation of pine tree plantations in Florida and Georgia
which planted over eight million pine trees. Jim was inducted into Georgia Tech’s Academy of Distinguished Engineering Alumni in 1994 and was
recognized as the 1998 Ernst & Young Indiana Entrepreneur of Year in the Master Category. Jim along with Christine were awarded honorary
doctorate (PhD) degrees by Marian University, Indianapolis on May 9, 2015. While working at his job and raising a large family was Jim’s main
focus, in his spare time, he managed to serve as co-chairman of the building committee of St. Luke Church. He was also President of Mountain
Lake Club, a member of its Board of Directors and serviced as chairman of the building committee for its major renovation. Fishing was his
favorite recreational pastime when time and location permitted. Jim was a member of St. Luke Catholic Church, Indianapolis and Holy Spirit
Catholic Church. Jim, and his wife supported numerous charities including the funding of permanent endowments for the Archdiocese of I
ndianapolis, St. Luke Church and School, Indianapolis, St. Vincent Hospital, Indianapolis, Indiana University Medical School, Mayo Clinic, The
Church Services Center, Bartow, Florida, The Albert J. and Christine M. Hackl Endowment Fund f/b/o Holy Spirit Catholic Church, Lake Wales,
Florida, The Hackl Family Endowment for Charity in Polk County, Florida and The Hackl Family Endowed Scholarship Fund at Marian University
in Indianapolis and the Albert James and Christine M. Hackl Family Trust f/b/o the Church and Poor in the Catholic Diocese of Jackson,
Mississippi.
The well-being of the family was always Jim’s priority and he took great
pleasure in witnessing the strengthening bonds that developed among his
children and grandchildren through the years. Ever thankful, Jim’s oft stated
view of himself was that he was 'just a pretty fair salesman who got lucky.

GOSPEL MEDITATION
May 27, 2018 Solemnity of the Most Holy Trinity
Happy Trinity Sunday! In today's Gospel, we hear Jesus declare together all
three Persons of the Trinity. "Go therefore, and make disciples of all
na#ons, bap#zing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the
Holy Spirit."
When we speak of the Trinity, two different theological words are some#mes
used: immanent and economic. The immanent Trinity is the life of the
three Persons within themselves, the inner harmonious rela#onship between
Father, Son, and Spirit. We see this in the Gospels when Jesus speaks of his
Father and promises to send the Holy Spirit. The term "economic" has its
roots in the Greek word oikonomia, roughly meaning "household management." The economic Trinity is our
three-Personed God's rela#onship with crea#on; it is crea#on and redemp#on and ongoing rela#onship with
us.
Made in the image and likeness of God, we are called to imitate God's immanence by giving and receiving
love with one another in community. However, this is not limited only to those close to us, though that's
where love o*en starts. We also imitate the economy of God when we go out, when we extend our love and
care in a life-giving way. "Go therefore ?"
Every believer is sent on mission. Every believer is invited to follow Jesus and the Apostles "to the na#ons,"
to the margins, to the people who require a li+le extra reach. This could be a distant rela#ve, the residents of
your local homeless shelter or even the forgo+en neighbor next door! When we love well, we create
something beau#ful-a rela#onship, a holy moment, a foretaste of heaven. This Trinity Sunday, take some
#me to examine the rela#onships in your life. How well do you love those nearest to you? How well do you
reach out to those farther away? How are you crea#ng something beau#ful?
