What Do We Do All Day?
In the Morning: we unpack, sign up for lunch, and begin our morning work.
At the carpet, we read the plans of the day and have Shared Reading.
The students return to their seats for a reading follow up page and then go
to their Literacy Center.
During that time, we pull groups of children to have Guided Reading with us.
We go to our Specials (Art, Music, Media, and PE).
We share our ideas during Writer’s Workshop.
We have whole group Math and Math stations.
We end the day with Science or Social Studies.

Word Sorts will be modeled in class and in small groups before it is

Homework Calendar
Homework will begin the first week of October
It will be given out bi-weekly along with the “Words Their Way” activities – beginning in January
Encourage your child to give his/her best effort
Your child should be writing on their own with parents helping to sound out words
Important Class Information
Folders will be send home every day
Empty your child’s folder and return to school
Please sign the “daily performance chart” if your child has a note for the day and leave in the folder for the month
Early release days will be from 8:55am-12:55pm
Your child will be eating lunch at school. Please make sure he/she has lunch or has money in the lunch account
