Students• It is now time to go to the main entrance and line up with

your home room• A Student council leader will take you on a tour around the

school• Stay with your group for the tour• During the tour, complete the scavenger hunt for a chance

to win a prize

• Students can attend Extra Help with any teacher- not just their teacher

• Currently: • 4 day cycle with 4 – 75min Periods 1,2,3,4

English Program

English Program:•English 9- All Year•Math 9- All Year•Phys-ed- All Year•Science/ Social Studies- One Semester per course•Elective Courses- Two electives completed in one semester•French 9- One Semester every second day

French Program• French Language Arts- All Year*• Math 9- All Year • Science/ Social Studies- One Semester per course*• Phys-ed- All Year• Elective Courses- Two electives completed in one

semester• English 9- One Semester every second day

* Indicates course is offered in French

Elective Courses• Students were required to request preferred elective

courses. • It is important to note that not all requests are able to be

filled because of scheduling conflicts. • Possible elective courses include:

• Visual Arts 9 • Exploring Music 9 (Theatre option or Instrumental option)• Technology Education 9

*students will receive two of the four elective courses

Course Registration• French Immersion and Band

• A form was sent home from Sackville Heights indicating elective courses and whether or not a student is in English or French Immersion and whether or not they are in the band program. If this information was incorrect you were asked to indicate on the form when it was returned to the school.

Other Things to Know…• First Day of School:

• Check the MHS website and Twitter for updates and information

• Have your schedule printed from PowerSchool- We will not have copies printed for students

• Bring your Student Fees- Amount will be posted on MHS website

• Bring pens/ pencils and paper. Teachers will let you know if they require specific supplies on first day of school.

• The first day of school is September 2nd. The morning will be grade 9 students only. The grade 10-12 students will be joining in the afternoon.
