MISSION STATEMENT MISSION STATEMENT MISSION STATEMENT
Message from Fr. Timothy Salva on Arrives for Sinners Zacchaeus was someone who was involved in many types of fraud and extor on. He was also considered a traitor to his Jewish faith and to the Jewish na on because he collaborated with the occupying Roman government in Pales ne. We don’t know what made him so eager to see Jesus. None of the crowd would let him through or give him a chance to get close so he decided to climb a tree. When Jesus caught sight of him, he invited himself to Zacchaeus’ house. This not only made Zacchaeus happy but Jesus too was filled with joy because he was able to pardon a repent-ant sinner receiving him back as a prodigal son. Jesus ex-presses his joy with these words: “Today salva on has come to this house because this man too is a descendent of Abra-ham.” With these words Jesus expresses his love and com-plete dedica on to sinners. This is astonishing to those pre-sent and to us because the sinner is the one who distances himself, and nevertheless, Jesus is the one who goes in search of him. Fr. Timothy
No sabemos porqué quería ver a Jesús.

In the Gospel today, Zacchaeus accepts our Lord joyfully; and the sign of his acceptance is his open house and his resolution to give half of his goods to the poor.
Through your gift to the Society of St. Vincent de Paul you also show your acceptance of our Lord by joy-fully sharing your goods with your neighbor who is hun-gry, hopeless, alone and frightened.
Is God calling you to spend some time listening to people in our community who are in need? Please leave a message for Dalila at 630-236-1285. Available for Purchase A Special Mother is Born
This book, written by Leticia Velasquez, is a celebration of extraordinary motherhood and the gift of life. The positive moments as well as the negative are included in these inspiring and moving stories of special needs children told by their parents. Whether you have given birth, adopted or known someone with a special needs child, this book will help you appreciate more fully the irreplaceable gift of human life and the value and joy of a special needs child. In his inaugural address, Pope Benedict XVI stated, “Each of us is the result of a thought of God. Each of us is willed; each of us is loved. Each of us is necessary.” So if you know someone who is struggling over a child with severe physical impairments, sharing these testimonies will show them the power of Christ's tender love. At a time when so many of these little ones are in the cross hairs of a culture of death, the author has fought back with grace.
