• Programme for Active Learning (PAL) – one of the recommendations of the Primary
Education Review and Implementation (PERI) Committee to strengthen the emphasis on non-academic programmes for Primary 1 and 2 pupils
– focus more on engaged learning and teaching the whole child via a strong teacher and pupil relationship
– equip our young with the necessary skills and values to thrive in a fast-changing and globalised future.
PAL•consists of modules of activities in two broad areas: Sports & Games and Outdoor Education, and Performing Arts and Visual Arts, which are carried out within the curriculum time
•provide the platforms for experiential learning and opportunities for learning experiences to acquire a range of skills as well as interaction with their peers, thereby developing confidence in the pupils
• To provide pupils with broad exposure and experiences through fun and varied activities in Sports & Games, Outdoor Education, Performing Arts and Visual Arts
• To facilitate the holistic development of pupils in the five broad learning domains of physical, cognitive, social, aesthetics and moral
• To provide varied avenues for pupils to develop social emotional competencies
Pupils:
•Exhibit confidence in what they do and express themselves effectively
•Exhibit curiosity and positive attitudes to learn
•Enjoy group experiences and teamwork
• Design of PAL takes into account the knowledge, values and attitudes that the school wants to develop in a RGPS Girl –A Creative Thinker, A Life-Long Learner and A Value-Based Leader
• In line with the school mission to develop our pupils to be useful citizens and lifelong learners, the school aligns the design of PAL to the overarching theme of National Education (NE).
