PSAT Testing Information PSAT- What is PSAT? Why should I take it?
MVHS will be administering the PSAT to sophomores and juniors. The PSAT or Preliminary SAT will help you become familiar with the content and format of the SAT. Many sophomores choose to take the PSAT for the following reasons:
to receive feedback on your academic strengths and weaknesses to see how your performance on an admissions test compares to other college bound
students to help prepare for the SAT to receive information from colleges

IB Program Description 2 year program taken in 11th and 12th grades
that results in an internationally recognized diploma in addition to the high school diploma.
Focuses on educating well-rounded students who want to make a difference in the world and are willing to challenge themselves to prepare for college.
IB Diploma Nuts and Bolts 6 subject courses and exams (1-7scale)
3-4 are taken Higher Level (HL)
2-3 are taken Standard Level (SL) Extended Essay Theory of Knowledge (TOK) course CAS Hours (150) Earn at least 24 out of 45 points for diploma

IB Program Elements Theory of Knowledge Course – Asks the big questions. How do
we know what we know? Offered after school in 11th and 12th grade.
Extended Essay – Research a topic that interests you. Write a well developed, comprehensive essay (4000 words max) with guidance from a teacher. Written over 2 years.
Creativity / Action / Service (CAS) – What are you passionate about? Make it have meaning. Bring it to life. 150 hours completed over 2 years. (Hours count for graduation requirements)
