School Policies

• All absenteeism must be covered by

a valid document (e.g. medical

certificate)

• All other types of documents/letters of

excuse written by parent/legal

guardian will be accepted on a case-

by-case basis

Absence from School-based tests

and examinations

• Without a valid reason for absenteeism, ‘0’

marks will be awarded

• A ‘VR’ grade will be given if the absenteeism

is covered by a valid medical certificate or

valid document for the day of the test or

examination

• No re-sitting for test or examination on

another day

Qn: How do I know if my daughter has HW for the day?

You can get her to copy HW into her student planner or get her

to take a picture of the HW board weekly.

Qn: How can I help my daughter to do better in school?

Have regular conversations with her about how she is doing in

school. Encourage her to approach her teachers for

CONSULTATIONS. If she tends to be passive, you may put her

on a consultation log so you know if she is approaching

teachers.

Qn: How do I keep track of my daughter’s academic

progress in school?

Monitor what is on the HW Board in the class. On it will be

written HW and Test information. Follow up by having

discussions on class tests etc and ask to see the test papers.

Qn: How do I know if my daughter has project work in

school?

Many project work are factored into curriculum time, they may

not always be required to meet out of curriculum time, but

they may have to at times. Students can meet up during the

1-hour common lunch or find time during the course of the

school day. Wherever possible departments leverage on IT

platforms to reduce the need for students to meet up.

after school?

Regular after school activities:

CCA – Refer to Information Booklet

Remedial Lessons – This is conducted on a needs basis, no

letter is given out, check with FT if you need to verify.

Ad hoc after school activities:

Enrichment or Learning Journeys – Letters will be issued

please put them somewhere where you can check and

monitor.
