Transition From Part-C to Part-B Report
• This Special Education State Report is now available in WESPaC
• A new evaluation field called IDEA Part-C has been added
• The IDEA Part-C field has been updated – Use the report to verify your data. The report can be found on your district’s export drive (X). It will be called something like: 2008.05.10_04.45.00_lind_school_district.linds.7_update_se_part_c.r.logReplace ‘lind’ with the name of your school district
• Remember:•Evaluations for children age birth to 2 years and 9 months should be coded with an evaluation type of Evaluation.•The evaluation that is done prior to the student’s 3rd birthday (must be at least 2 years and 9 months) must also be coded with an evaluation type of Evaluation.•The Permission Flag should be set to yes and the Permission Date should be entered. If the evaluation process took longer than 35 school days, the Timeline Reason must be entered.

The report is looking for ‘Q’ type offense and action codes in the Student Discipline records.
‘Q’ codes are tallied for students, totals are placed in the proper location on the report.
The Summary Report provides totals.
The Detail Reports provides the students included in the Summary Report totals.

The statute requires school buildings to report truancy information to school districts and requires school districts to compile the reports and transmit the information to OSPI at the end of each school year.

Notes from OPSI: Bulletin 027-08 WSSSC
The Education Data System (EDS) portal will be available at https://eds.ospi.k12.wa.us beginning June 1, 2008. Please complete and submit the required Weapons in Schools Report data and Student Behavior - Suspension and Expulsion Report data for each school building. Instructions, data element definitions, and frequently asked questions are available at this Web site.
Data submissions must be completed by July 11, 2008.

•All WESPaC districts will follow the same submission method, which is currently under development by WSIPC working closely with OSPI
•Running Start students will need to be scheduled into subject-specific courses attached to certified teachers/staff member in your building
•Alternative schools will need to schedule students into (at least) subject-specific courses attached to certified teachers
•TA/Office Aid type courses must now be tied to a certified teacher/staff member
•This report is not about apportionment, so general P223 practices are not affected and should not change
P210 and P210 VocThings you can do now:
•Have your EDS District Security Administrator grant you access to the P210 and P210 Voc reporting areas
•Run preliminary P210 and P210 Voc now to fix problems in your current data
•Communicate any changes to the CSRS contact in your district
•Current seniors who will not graduate due to missing any part of Graduation requirements (including WASL) must be retained
•New Voc reporting requirement for the 2008-2009 school year – “recognized assessment” information is not required for the current school year
