Welcome to the 2015-16 Fan Guide. We hope this will provide you with all the information you need as we embark on another wonderful year. As we continue to build on our recent success, we think it is important for our fans to know that Arizona Athletics receives no state appropriations or student fees, but does receive 315 tuition waivers annually, authorized by the Arizona Board of Regents. Tuition waivers are also granted to ASU and NAU. The athletics department is responsible for covering annual academic costs (room, board, books and fees to supplement the tuition waivers) and is responsible for generating the revenues necessary to meet the department’s budgetary obligations. Additionally, all funds required for new facilities and renovations are provided through the continued support and generosity of athletics department ticket buyers and donors. Fans play a major role in our ability to compete at the highest level and we need you to continue to invest in our programs so that we can provide our student-athletes with a first-class experience both on and off the playing surfaces. This can be done by purchasing tickets, joining the Wildcat Club, wearing the colors (especially on Fridays), and encouraging your friends and family to do the same. We appreciate your support and passion for the Arizona Wildcats and look forward to seeing you at the games! #AZisWildcatCountry

The A-Club Letterwinners Association is a FREE organization open to individuals who have lettered and/or participated in an intercollegiate sport at the University of Arizona. The A-Club is designed to encourage alumni letterwinners to return to campus and stay connected with the University, while promoting the rich history and tradition of Arizona Athletics. Less than 2% of all UA alumni can call themselves Arizona letterwinners. If you are an alumni letterwinner or participated in an intercollegiate sport, we encourage you to get involved with the A-Club and activate your FREE membership by visiting www.azaclub.com.

WHAT IS THE ARIZONA A-CLUB LETTERWINNERS ASSOCIATION?

Arizona Athletics is funded primarily though self-generated revenues. The department receives no state appropriations or student fees, but does receive 315 tuition waivers annually, authorized by the Arizona Board of Regents. Tuition waivers are provided to all three state institutions. Revenue to meet the rest of the department’s budgetary obligations comes from a variety of sources including:

Charitable gifts

Ticket sales

Corporate sponsorships

Television revenues

WHAT IS THE WILDCAT CLUB?A portion of Arizona Athletics’ funding comes from the generosity of athletics donors also known as Wildcat Club members. The Wildcat Club is a collective group of individuals who provide financial support for nearly 500 University of Arizona student-athletes. The support from these donors allows Arizona Athletics to compete with the best in the nation by providing financial support for scholarships, state-of-the-art facilities, equipment, team travel and other programs that allow student-athletes to succeed on and off their respective playing surfaces. There are many ways Wildcat fans can become official supporters of Arizona Athletics. With a tax-deductible donation of $100 or more (or $50 or more for recent graduates within three years of graduation) individuals can become a Wildcat Club member. Most tax-deductible gifts fall into one of the below categories:

Philanthropic gifts (i.e. capital campaign donations, sport/area specific giving, scholarships, endowments)

Ticket priority (the tax-deductible portion of the overall ticket price)

Certain areas of Arizona Stadium, McKale Center, Hillenbrand Stadium, and Hi Corbett Field carry a per-seat tax-deductible contribution over and above the ticket cost. All season ticket holders whose priority amount totals $100 or more automatically qualify for membership in the Wildcat Club because the priority amount is a tax-deductible donation. Priority seating gifts for Football, Men’s Basketball, Women’s Basketball, Softball, and Baseball are included in each donor’s annual gift club level.

CAPITAL PROJECTS

PLANNED GIFTSBy including Arizona Athletics in your estate plan (i.e. bequest, charitable gift annuity, charitable IRA distribution), you can help ensure a quality student-athlete experience for future generations of Wildcats. Arizona Athletics works closely with the UA Foundation concerning a specified planned gift to honor the intentions of the donor. Prior-ity Points will be given to donors who establish irrevocable planned gifts after calculating the IRS Charitable Deduction.

ENDOWMENTSEstablishing an endowment for Arizona Athletics affords a donor the unique opportunity to pro-vide scholarship support in perpetuity; it’s a gift that keeps on giving. A minimum commitment of $100,000 must be made to create an endowment within Arizona Athletics. By doing so, the individual will become a member of the Wildcat Club and receive the appropriate annual giving benefits.

Individuals may also choose to support specific sports or areas within the Athletics Department. These generous contributions offset the operating costs of specific sports and areas.

Currently these contributions provide support for projects such as the McKale Center renovation, Lowell-Stevens Football Facility, Jim Click Hall of Champions, Kasser Pool, Roby Gymnastics Practice Facility, Richard Jefferson Gym and Hi Corbett Field.

SPORT SPECIFIC OR AREA GIVING

WILDCAT SCHOLARSHIP FUNDDonating to the Wildcat Scholarship Fund means making a commitment to the academic success of all Arizona student-athletes. Scholarship costs are projected to be more than $4.9 million annually* and are one of the largest and most important needs of the Athletics Department.

The University of Arizona deeply appreciates your loyalty and continued support of our programs. We strive to serve the University, our student-athletes and our fans. Compliance with NCAA regulations is of the highest priority for our athletics programs and institution. In order to accomplish this, we must always seek the highest standards of ethical conduct. With your assistance and cooperation, we can achieve these goals.

WHO IS A “PROSPECTIVE STUDENT-ATHLETE?”A “prospective student-athlete,” known as a recruit or prospect, is a student who has started classes in the ninth grade. In addition, any younger student who receives any benefits from the institution would be considered a prospect.

YOU ARE A REPRESENTATIVE OF ATHLETICS INTERESTS IF YOU: Have made any type of financial or in-kind contribution to the athletics department or to an

athletics booster organization Are or have been a member of any organization or agency promoting Arizona Athletics Have assisted in any manner in the recruitment of prospective student-athletes Have arranged for or provided benefits to enrolled student-athletes or their families or to

prospective student-athletes and their families Have otherwise promoted Arizona’s athletics program in any manner

Remember, once you are identified as a representative of athletics interests (commonly known as a booster), you retain that identity FOREVER. Representatives of athletics interests are bound by NCAA, Pac-12 Conference and University of Arizona rules and regulations. As a result, representatives of athletics interests are responsible for notifying the University of Arizona Ath-letics Compliance Office of any potential rules violations. If a booster is found to be involved in a violation that results in the imposition of sanctions, the booster may be subject to the following consequences: revocation of ticket privileges; disassociation from the athletic department (e.g. loss of donor program and/or booster club privileges); or loss of any other athletically related benefits or privileges deemed appropriate by Arizona.

AS A REPRESENTATIVE OF ATHLETICS INTERESTS YOU MAY:

Provide employment opportunities for current student-athletes* (Please contact the Compliance Office or C.A.T.S Life Skills Office with any opportunities)

Provide occasional meals to student-athletes in your home*

Bring outstanding prospects to the attention of the Arizona coaching staff

*Requires athletic department approval prior to occurring.

AS A REPRESENTATIVE OF ATHLETICS INTERESTS YOU MAY NOT:

Call, write, email, text, tweet or post on a prospect’s social media page encouraging their enrollment at UA

Provide a prospect with free or reduced rate transporta-tion, lodging, meals, gifts, entertainment or expenses for any type of service

Entertain or provide gifts, tickets or other benefits to club, junior or senior high school, prep school or junior college coaches

Arrange or create employment opportunities for relatives, friends or legal guardians of prospects

Purchase tickets from student-athletes

Representatives of athletics interests are reminded that NCAA rules regarding enrolled student-athletes remain in effect throughout the entire year, including summer break. When student-athletes complete their final season of eligibility, they must abide by NCAA rules until the end of that academic year and/or until they are no longer receiving athletic financial aid.

Contributions for priority seating as well as other contributions to Arizona Athletics are estimated to be 80% tax-deductible. Please consult your tax advisor. The Internal Revenue Service states that the deductible amount of the gift is calculated after the fair market value of all offered tangible benefits associated with the Wildcat Club have been subtracted from the payment. Reduction varies on annual gift club level. Benefit values available upon request. All benefits may be declined with a written request at the time the gift is made. All benefits and giving levels are subject to change on an an-nual basis. All payments for tickets and/or priority seating must be made from the account holder’s credit card or account holder’s check or in person in cash by the account holder. Priority seating payments must be entered into the account with season tickets, while gifts can be made on behalf of another person (at donor’s request). All donations must be received by May 1, 2015 to qualify for 2015-2016 benefits. For more information please contact a member of our Wildcat Club staff at (520) 621-CLUB (2582).

Wildcat Club parking is not guaranteed, is subject to change, and is based upon availability and number of Wildcat Club Members. WILDCAT CLUB DISABLED PARKING Disabled parking is assigned based on annual gift club level, priority points, and the number of disabled spaces available in each lot. In order to park in a disabled space you must have a permit for the designated lot along with your state issued disabled placard or license plate. This policy is in compliance with the University of Arizona Disability Resource Center. Non-Wildcat Club members who wish to acquire a disabled parking permit must purchase it from UA Parking and Transportation Services and be assigned based on space availability. Please contact UA Parking and Transportation by calling 520-626-PARK (7275).

All benefits are contingent upon an individual’s annual gift club level as of May 1. Anyone who becomes a Wildcat Club member after May 1 will be assigned benefits after those who met the renewal deadline of May 1. If gifts are received after the end of the fiscal year (June 30), they will be applied to the next year’s gift club level. All benefits are non-transferable.

Effective this year, season tickets and benefits will be mailed together in August. This is why the May 1 deadline is extremely important. Those individuals who do not meet the deadline will have benefits assigned after those individuals who did meet the deadline. Benefits assigned to individuals who do not meet the deadline will be based on availability.

Benefits are available the following 15-16 fiscal year to those who make their donation by May 1, 2015. This deadline is important because benefits (such as parking) will be allocated within two weeks of this date. WILDCAT CLUB ANNUAL GIVING BENEFITS GLOSSARY

Gift amounts are subject to change based on ticket availability.

Requests are valid for the 2015-16 season only.

^Total season ticket cost consists of “ticket price” plus “priority amount.” Campaign Arizona contributions apply to “Priority” type tickets and are not included in prices shown above.

ENJOY THE NEW MCKALE MEMORIAL CENTER Thanks to generous donations from Cole and Jeannie Davis, George Kalil, Steve and Margot Kerr and a number of other supporters, a renovated McKale Center was completed in December 2014, which included a new video board, upgraded seating, hand rails, enhanced lighting and improvements to concession stands and restrooms.

ARIZONA BASKETBALL SEASON TICKETS There is nothing quite like the atmosphere and energy of a rockin’ McKale Center when the Wildcats take the floor. A limited amount of season tickets are available in most seating areas. Now is the time to jump on board and secure your seats for every home game for 2015-16 and beyond. For decades tickets to Arizona Basketball games were difficult to obtain. That demand has returned! Last year 14 of the 17 home games sold out, including all nine Pac-12 home games. Ticket availability is extremely low. Act now to purchase before the supply runs out.

SUPPORT ARIZONA MEN’S BASKETBALL BY JOINING THE WILDCAT CLUB AND DIRECTING YOUR CHARITABLE GIFT TO A SPORT SPECIFIC GIVING PROGRAM. CONTRIBUTIONS CAN BE MADE BY CALLING (520) 621-CLUB (2582) OR VISITING WILDCATCLUB.ORG.
