Meet your 2022 World Women Vice Chairs!!!
MICHELLE DYBLE, VICE CHAIR OF HOSTING
Get to know the three faces that will be your 2022 WWCC Hosting Committee!
What is your role in the 2022 WWCC? Hello and welcome to all volunteers! My name is Michelle Dyble and I am excited to be taking on the position of Vice Chair Hosting. I have been volunteering for most of my adult life and was as disappointed as everyone else when the 2020 World Women's Curling Championships were cancelled. What a huge compliment to Prince George and its volunteers when it was announced this year that the World Women's Curling Championships would take place in Prince George in 2022 after all.
Where is somewhere in Prince George you would recommend to someone new to the city? A little about me...I am an avid hiker and would highly recommend to anyone who enjoys the outdoors that they take in the trails we have right in our backyard. Here are some of the trails we have in Prince George...Cottonwood Island Nature Park...you may see one or two unique carvings carved into a few of the cottonwood trees along the tail. Moore’s Meadow Nature Park...an old homestead in the middle of Prince GeorgeLC Gunn Park...where you can view a beautiful sunsetWilson Park...you may see a Beaver or Deer on the River Hudson's Bay Wetland Nature Park...for an assortment of birds or ducks. The outdoors awaits you. What are you looking forward to most hosting the 2022 World Women's? As I mentioned earlier I have been volunteering for a number of years and was thrilled to be asked to volunteer at the 2010 Winter Paralympics in Whistler BC. It was a monthly long adventure. To be a part of another world class event is an honour and I look forward to meeting many of you in March.
SHELLEY RENNICK, VICE CHAIR OF SPECIAL EVENTSWhat are you looking forward to most hosting the 2022 World Women's? Hi Volunteers! My name is Shelley Rennick and I am happy to say I am returning as the Vice Chair of Special Events. What I I am most looking forward to is showing the world our great city and hospitality.
Where is somewhere in Prince George you would recommend to someone new to the city? As I mentioned Prince George is a great city and one of the things I always recommend people take the time to go and see is the University and the view from the David Douglas Botanical Garden. It is a beautiful feature in our city.
What is one sporting event you would love to volunteer for? Volunteering for any winter sport is rewarding as it shows what variety there is in the north.
JEN RUBADEAU VICE CHAIR OF FACILITIESWhat are you looking forward to most hosting the 2022 World Women's? Hello volunteers! I am Jen Rubadeau and I am your vice chair of facilities. What I look forward to most is bringing the community back together to celebrate!
What is your favourite thing about Prince George? I would recommend the people and community pride!
Where is somewhere in Prince George you would recommend to someone new to the city? Attending our abundance of first-class live music and theatre and checking out the Ancient Forest
What is fun fact about you? I love to do renovations and build things!
