Recent Activities• August is for Aerospace

• AIAA DE Section co-hosted Representative Dr. Andy Harris (MD-1)

• Issues of defense spending, federal deficit, affordable healthcare act, and future of human spaceflight were discussed

• Rep. Harris welcomed the opportunity to hear from some constituents on these issues and was interested in gaining greater understanding on the need for human space exploration versus continued robotic missions

National Chemistry Week 2012

• A National Chemistry Week children’s outreach event will be held on Saturday, November 3

• This event will include an Alka-SeltzerTM rocket activity organized by the AIAA Delaware Section

• Information on events, and ways for you to volunteer, will be provided in our next newsletter

• October 9, 2012 The John Carroll School, Bel Air, MD 6-8pm

• STEM and BEYOND Night is a workshop for 4th-6th grade students with hands on activities to increase interest in science and math

• AIAA – Delaware section will be hosting an Alka-Seltzer rocket experiment
