IMPORTANT STUDY TIPS

Study Tip 1. Download Course Materials From Webclass download the workbook and assessment for your next module. Start with modules in the order listed on your timetable. Create a folder on your computer where you keep your course materials.

Study Tip 2. Set some Study Timeframes Webclass will tell you how many weeks you have for each module. Now that you can see the Assessment Questions; set some goals eg to do Parts A – C in week 1; parts D – E in week 2 …. so that you make regular progress.

Study Tip 3. Read the Workbook in Small Parts and Answer Questions as You Go Now you are ready to start – identify what parts of the Course Workbook you should be focused on for the first part/s of your assessment. You will see this in the header of each Part of the Assessment).eg

Quickly read the questions in the first part/s of the assessment so that you are focused on the information you are seeking from the Course Workbook. The Assessment questions and activities are in the Word

document.

The questions are in same order as you will find the relevant

information for that question in the provided Workbook or

textbook.

The Assessment questions are in Parts – each part refers you to

the relevant section in the Workbook.

DON’T read the whole workbook in one go

DO read the assessment questions before reading the

related section of the workbook.

Complete the answers to the assessment questions by TYPING

your answers in the word document as indicated in the document

by “insert your answer here”.

Do not have separate documents as your assessment – insert the text and pictures into the

provided Word document (unless instructed otherwise). Later sections show how to do this.

The most efficient way to complete your module is to open the documents on your computer;

and use them simultaneously. See the later section on how to resize your windows to do this.

Make regular copies / back-ups of your work. See a later section on how to do this.

Study Tip 4. Answer the Questions as You Read the Workbook The assessment questions are mostly in the order the information is in the Course Workbook. This should allow you to type your answer to each question as you read through the workbook.

Study Tip 5. Keep it Simple. Use your Own Words Don’t overdo your answers. Aim to answer the question as quickly as possible, ensuring you address all parts of the question. Unless asked for theory or steps in a process, use your own words to explain what you have learnt from the Course Workbook.

These parts “passed” but to be graded as competent you must submit the remaining parts, and any questions specified by the assessor in their comments. Review the Task Cover Sheet to see the parts you must submit. Note for some modules eg Multiple Information Systems you do not finish the module until the completion of your qualification.
