SOCIAL JUSTICE SUNDAY 24 TH SEPTEMBER 2017 We celebrate Social Justice Sunday on 24 th September. This year, the Australian Bishops’ Social Justice Statement is titles: ‘Everyone’s Business: Developing an inclusive and sustainable economy’. The Statement calls for an economy that is founded on justice and offers dignity and inclusion to every person. For further details about the Social Justice Statement, visit the Australian Catholic Social Justice Council website www.socialjustice.catholic.org.au or call 02 8306 3499. MARRIAGE PLEBISCITE: As survey forms begin arriving in letterboxes across Australia, it is important that we are fully equipped with information about the consequences of changing the definition of marriage and the impacts this will have on individuals, families, education and churches. FIRST RECONCILIATION 2017 Parents Enrolment Night for children making their First Reconciliation (confession) is Wednesday, 11 th October at 6pm in the Cathedral. First Reconciliation is Wednesday 22 nd November at 6pm in the Cathedral … It is essential that parents attend this meeting to ENROL their son/daughter for this Sacrament. If your child was not baptised in the Armidale parish, you will need to supply proof of your child’s baptism at this meeting. All enquiries to the Parish Office 6772 2218. there will be a rosary said prior to each Sunday Mass during October… rosaries prior to the Monday & Wednesday 12.30pm Mass will be offered for marriage & family… Tuesday, Thursday & Friday, there will be home rosaries. If you would like to host a rosary in your home, there is a roster in the Cathedral foyer – claim your date…everyone is invited to join in. ADIG DISTRIBUTION …. The total ADIG Distribution to the parishes of the Diocese of Armidale this year was $580,000, an increase on the amount distributed in 2016. The Cathedral Parish of Armidale has received $48,162.
