The New Bridge makes intricate and heartfelt music that criss-crosses the territories of jazz, folk, chamber music and rock. The five-piece ensemble includes three members of Gypsophilia -- Adam Fine, Ross Burns and Nick Wilkinson -- with Halifax mainstays Andrew Jackson
on trombone and Doug Cameron on drums. The quintet’s unusual instrumentation allows for a wide range of possibilities for their original compositions: sensitive and pastoral one moment, rough-edged and visceral the next.
The New Bridge
The Brogue Saxophone Quartet –
based in the port city of Halifax,
Nova Scotia – fuses the styles and
backgrounds of its four members
to create an ensemble that is lively,
engaging, cohesive, and dynamic! Their
highly polished performances always
include an element of entertainment
while maintaining a high level of musicianship. Going well beyond the
boundaries of the traditional saxophone quartet, the players bring
to the group their skills on other instruments and in diverse musical
styles. You never know what you might hear! James Kalyn (soprano),
Tristan De Borba (alto), Brad Reid (tenor), Catherine Hatt (baritone).

For years, their performances have astounded listeners who arrive expecting to hear a group of youthful amateurs, and leave comparing them to post-secondary or adult ensembles. There are TYWO alumni in several major
symphony orchestras and boards of education across Canada, the U.S. and abroad. Although not all members go on to a career in music, all do carry with them the pride of being part of a unique musical family, with memories and friendships that last for years.

GROW BY LEAPS AND BOUNDS WITH NEW JUNO STUDENT REEDS MADE BY VANDORENJuno is the first reed made specifically for beginning students. Using Vandoren cane and manufactured in the same facility as all Vandoren reeds, JUNO is a new cut that makes the first notes easy and beautiful.
Students will experience success from the start. Your students will have success from day one. Having immediate success will encourage them to stay in your program.
You can teach tone and balance from the beginning! It’s pretty exciting to start developing your section sound from the first day your students play. It happens with JUNO.
Your parents will love them too! Who wouldn’t want a child who was excited with immediate success! Parents will also love that each reed is individually wrapped for performance and cleanliness. And the cost of JUNO reeds is the same or lower than other entry-level reeds!
