1.2. How to register for your courses

Usually, a registration is not necessary for most of your courses

Registration can be obligatory for a few courses like tutorials,

workshops or labs

Information on how and when to apply will be given

on the homepage of the Institute

by the lecturer during the first lecture

2.2. Changes of your Learning Agreements/Study Proposals

As soon as possible after the start of the lectures (4 – 6 weeks at the

latest)

Submission to your Home University

2.3. Prolongation

Extension of your stay for one semester (SS 18 or WS18/19)

Certificate of enrollment from your home university

Approval of your home university

Signed Learning Agreement for the second term

for a final/project thesis:

approval of your KIT supervisor

Attention:

international students from third countries (with citizenship of non-EU/EEA

countries) will have to pay tuition fees of 1500€/semester from WS17/18 onwards

Visiting Students from third countries studying in the frame of a Bilateral

cooperation agreement are exempted for the first and second semester, but will

have to pay from their third semester (=WS2018/19!!) at KIT onwards

2.4 Re-registration

Re-registration at Campus Management/ online

Deadline: 15 January until 15 February 2018

Attention:

Missing the deadline will be fined 15 €

Without the re-registration, you will not be able to sign up for

the exams during the next term (SS 2018)

3. At the end of your stay

3.1. What kind of exams do you have to take?

Written exams

Respect the deadlines for signing up

Fixed date, determined at the beginning

of the term

Long correcting period possible

(up to 8-10 weeks)

Oral exams

More flexibility in organizing the date, individual agreements possible

Pre- or postponing after discussion with and approval of your examiner

Results/marks directly after the examination

3.2. When do the exams take place?

From the end of the lecture period up to the official end of the term

Winter Term: February until end of March

Summer Term: End of July until end of September

Dates are published on the institutes‘

homepages

Dates are binding

Pre-/postponing of an exam might be possible

in substantiated exceptional cases

after the discussion with and approval of the examiner

3.3. When to apply for the exams

The exact application period for the exams is published on the

homepages of the institutes, some weeks after the start of the semester

The lecturers or their assistants will announce the dates during the

lectures or exercices

The dates can be asked directly at the institutes

3.4. How to apply for the exams

Precondition: Registration at SCM by handing over your

completed Application Form

at the latest 6 weeks after the start of your studies

Application to your individual exams and/or thesis

At the latest: one week before the end of the application period send

an e-mail to SCM ([email protected]) including

Your name

Course number and title

Name of the institute

Name of the supervisor

After about 1-2 days:

pick up your application at SCM personally

go to the institute in time

and hand it in

take your exam

3.5. How to get the Transcript of Records

After having finished all exams apply for your

Transcripts of Records at SCM by E-Mail

As soon as all results are known, SCM creates your Transcript

Attention: the correcting period sometimes takes up to 6-9 weeks, but you can

ask for a preliminary extract / proficiency certificate

Delivery of the Transcript

Pick it up personally at SCM or

The Transcript is sent to your home address
