We have a nursery available during the Modern Worship service for children ages 0-3 near the stairs in the main lobby.

Restrooms are available down the hall from the main lobby; they are the last two doors on the left-hand side, near the water fountain.

Lunch in Lent: Immanuel Christian Reformed Church invites you to join them for Lenten Lunches this season. They will be serving a lunch of soup and bread each Wednesday from 11:45 - 12:30, (February 17th - March 16th). Please join them at 601 Union Ave. in Sheldon during this Lenten season.

Help Needed: We are in need of some more volunteers to help co-lead for the Jr. & Sr. High Sunday School through May. If you are willing to help give of your time to help mentor our young men and women, please contact Tricia Meendering or the church office. Thank you so much for your willingness to serve.

“Soup”er Bowl Sunday: We all know how welcoming a bowl of soup can be on a cold winter day. Please help the mission committee be able to offer that to others by donating cans of soup. We will be collecting the cans of soup now through Thursday, February 11th. The soup will be split between our own food pantry, O’Brien County SOS & Upper Des Moines.

Ash Wednesday Service is February 10th @7:00 pm. Lent is a 40 day period beginning with Ash Wednesday (not including Sundays) and, ending with Holy Saturday. Each year we begin the Lenten Season with a service of repentance and ashes to help remind ourselves we truly are dust and to dust we will return. It is only through he glory of Christ we have hope for a new life. We are then challenged to reflect on ways we can grow closer to God by strengthening our prayer life. Please come and join us for worship on Wednesday, February 10th @ 7:00 pm.

Community Unity Service will be held on Sunday, February 7th at 2:00 pm at Bethel Reformed Church. Everyone is invited to attend

Song of Solomon Bible Study: Rated PG Used and loved throughout the world, the Song of Solomon series teaches the Biblical design for relationships. This Tommy Nelson interpretive study follows King Solomon’s relationship from attraction to dating and courtship, marriage and intimacy to resolving conflict, keeping romance alive, and committing to the end. If you are single, married, or in a romantic relationship, you owe it to yourself to come join Roger Ruby and Sam Peterson Sunday mornings at 9:45 in the Chapel for this very enlightening and edge of your seat Bible study beginning TODAY, Sunday, Feb. 7th @ 9:45 am.

Sunday, February 14th, will be our annual “Bella Notte” Valentine’s Banquet. Tickets are $10 each, or a table of 8 for $70. Tickets are available through the church office,

Beginning Today, February 7, Tony and Deb Haning’s Sunday school class is going to begin a study on the movie “War Room” This is a 5 week study that looks at prayer and how we as I ndividuals can begin to understand prayer. How prayer can help us in our lives and how we can be better at praying. Please join us as we look at different selection of the movie and see how it leads us to better prayer. Pastor Kevin will also be doing this study for his Lenten Bible Study series. Pastor will offer two study times, one will begin on Wednesday, February 10th @ 10:00 am and the other will begin on Wednesday, February 24th @ 6:30 pm.

Fundraiser Benefit for Ranae Lundgren on Feb. 12 from 5:00-7:30 pm at the Eagles Club, 411 Park St., Sheldon. Roast Beef Sundae meal and dessert. Free will donation will be collected, Silent auction and T-shirts for sale. Please mark your calendar and help support Ranae. Please see the Friendship Center for a sign up sheet for donations of desserts.

Help Needed: We need everyone’s help in notifying the church office if you or someone you know is hospitalized, moved to a nursing, assisted living, or retirement home. Due to the Privacy Act these places can not call and let us know you are there. Pastor Kevin can not come to visit and pray with you unless he is notified. Thank you all in advance for your help.

Thank You to everyone who helped with the New Member/All Church Potluck held on January 31st. Thank you especially to all the people who helped prepare the meat and potatoes, brought a dish to share, helped set up and clean up it was a wonderful time of food and fellowship.

Training: The church has a new Defibrillator. We are going to invite the congregation to a training event along with CPR on Wed., Feb. 17th @ 6:30 pm in the Fellowship Hall. The training will last 1.5 hours. All Ad Council is to attend as you will meet after the training. Everyone who wants to come needs to sign up so we know how many will be here.
