Chloe started with us at Cofton as a casual Lifeguard only 2 years ago. Since then she has taken on regular contracted hours and has now been promoted to Leisure Supervisor due to her maturity and her ability to go above and beyond in her day to day Job Role. Chloe has also developed and provided 1:1 Private Swimming Lessons at Cofton which has proved to be hugely popular, so much so we have had to take extra staff on to deal with the demand. Chloe created a business plan, deciding how much we should pay instructors and how much we should charge parents and proving to us what an amazing opportunity we had as a business. The swimming lessons don't conflict with the overall availability of the pool and fit in well with our day to day running of the facility.

Chloe proved to us that with minimal investment what we can achieve and has an eye for detail and shows business acumen when coming up with an idea. The individual lessons Chloe provides are of an extremely high standard and the feedback from parents and children is amazing. Chloe’s next venture is already in the pipeline, she is going to qualify as an official Mermaid Instructor whereby you teach children to swim with a monofinand tail. This takes a lot more investment from us as a business with training and purchasing equipment but we are confident Chloe will make a success. Chloe does all this as well as studying full time, she shows passion, strength and integrity on a daily basis whilst at work.

The quality of care which this young man delivers is outstanding his customers look forward to seeing him daily, he works mostly with other carers on what is called the Double Handed round which would involve caring for customers with very complex needs and clear outcomes. Luca has been awarded the carer of the month for Bluebird care Exeter which involves a certificate and vouchers in recognition of his hard work, good staff feedback and a nomination by his named Supervisor Jenna Hill.

Luca has taken time out at the moment from work to concentrate on his studies at Exeter which is very commendable. He will come back to work in the next few weeks he is currently on our bank staff. Luca always has a smile on his face and is a breathe of fresh air to the organisation and we always wait in anticipation as to what hair colour he will have on a weekly basis which make the office team Laugh. Luca deserves this award not only is he studying to improve his future prospects but he is giving his time to the community of Exeter by delivering outstanding care for Bluebird care who are CQC rated as an outstanding care company across three offices in Devon.

As we've undergone a management restructure and a large staff turnover, Katie has been a superstar within our team, helping to cover shifts, being a listening ear for staff who have undergone personal struggles all whilst being a firm favourite with our customers, both regular and new, due to her bubbly personality and constant smile.

We run a weekly competition to upsell our guest coffee, which Katie not only encourages and trains other staff to do, but also excels at herself, usually finishing top of the leader board.

Katie embodies all that we promote at Boston Tea Party, fairness, kindness, individuality and just a touch of quirkiness. We're pleased to nominate Katie for Student Employee of the Year, for all that she has done in her time at Boston Tea Party to "make things better".

Having spoken to his Mentors it is clear how much he is valued & how effective he is in supporting them to make their role & the programme a success. He’s fully engaged with us throughout & is always finding ways to innovate/improve his programme which alongside his many time commitments is commendable. He manages a website, proposed guest speakers to run bespoke workshops & gives quality feedback about the wider scheme. He’s accompanied me to 2 national conferences. The latter he gave an impromptu speech about his leadership & time mgmt which blew delegates away, demonstrating the calibre of Exeter students, let alone those who work for Peer Support.

Ferdinand deserves this award & has shown leadership qualities of organising, taking responsibility, innovating & supporting. Dr David MacDonald: "Ferdinand has responsibility for management of the new Y3 programme. He arranges & chairs monthly programme meetings with Mentors to plan upcoming sessions, keeps the website running smoothly, advertises sessions to Yr2 students & liaises with academic staff to ensure accurate session content. This is while he’s working towards his Medical Sciences degree, which is testament to his dedication. His leadership skills have allowed me to use my time more effectively in running the existing Y2 programme whilst knowing the Y3 programme is in safe hands under his stewardship. He’s presenting his Peer Support work at 2 international conferences this year: ALDinHE (Exeter) & IAPL (Brighton).
