A collection of web pages that can be edited by a group.

…is a website that allows multiple users to create, modify and organize web page content in a collaborative manner.

…is a collaborative website where the users are responsible for creating and maintaining the content.

Wikis Vs Blogs

A blog, or web log, shares writing and multimedia content in the form of “posts” (starting point entries) and “comments” (responses to the posts).

A wiki has a far more open structure and allows others to change what one person has written. This openness may trump individual opinion with group consensus.

Why use wikis in education?

Wikis encourage collaborative learning and information sharing

They increase student engagement and participation
