Video has long been a staple of the ‘YouTube’ generation, a familiar concept and one that is proven to be 82% more effective (for recall and retention) than text alone. As early adopters of this technology within the recruitment space we have gained substantial knowledge and advantage within the recruitment process.

BPS has created an industry leading video booth. Thisbooth is the first of its kindand a unique innovation within the recruitment industry.

The booth allows candidates to be screened through the medium of video in a predefined format, allowing all candidates to be measured against set criteria. With all candidates being measured against a standard format it allows recruitment personnel to quickly and fairly separate the exceptional from the average. This has proved to be highly successful at recruitment events where typically organisations are interacting with tens or hundreds of candidates and have no means of distinguishing them other than the paper CV. Having the video booth alleviates the pain of having to determine which candidates are the right fit and helps us to identify the right candidates for both ourselves and our clients.

Video CV A video CV is a tool we have been encouraging our candidates to develop. The video CV has many distinct advantages over its traditional paper counterpart. It allows BPS to get a three dimensional view of the candidate, similarly to the traditional CV it assesses the candidates skills and abilities, however where a video CV is unique is that it also allows us to assess a candidates personality, attitude and interpersonal skills. Additionally it provides a platform for candidates to distinguish themselves and stand out at an early stage.

Video Screening With the recruitment process requiring input from numerous stakeholders often in different locations, scheduling all the stakeholders to meet can often be an arduous process. A video screening process makes this easier and helps to create a streamlined, efficient recruitment process.

BPS has piloted this within our Executive Search team which has resulted in a reductionof average project timescales from 15 weeks to 9 weeks and a 97% delivery record which is unheard of within this specialist arena. Video screening allows us to have client consensus on candidates before the first interview. This strengthens our relationships with our clients as we can quickly match their requirements.
