Crown Him with many crowns
1. Crown Him with many crowns, the Lamb upon His throne.Hark! How the heavenly anthem drowns all music but its own.Awake, my soul, and sing of Him who died for thee,And hail Him as your matchless King through all eternity.
Crown Him with many crowns
4. Crown Him the Lord of life, who triumphed over the grave,And rose victorious in the strife for those He came to save. His glories now we sing, who died, and rose on high,Who died eternal life to bring, and lives that death may die.
Crown Him with many crowns
5. Crown Him the Lord of Heaven, enthroned in worlds above,Crown Him the King to Whom is given the wondrous name of Love.Crown Him with many crowns, as thrones before Him fall;Crown Him, you kings, with many crowns, for He is King of all. †

FIRST READINGActs 1:1-11 CEV
Jesus' ascension, promise and commission
R: The first Reading for The Ascension of our Lord is written in Chapter 1 of Acts, beginning at Verse 1.
23
acts 1:1-11 Theophilus, I first wrote to you about
all that Jesus did and taught from the very first 2until he was taken up to heaven.
But before he was taken up, he gave orders to the apostles he had chosen with the help of the Holy Spirit.
24
acts 1:1-11 3For forty days after Jesus had
suffered and died, he proved in many ways that he had been raised from death. He appeared to his apostles and spoke to them about God's kingdom.
25
acts 1:1-11 4While he was still with them, he
said: Don't leave Jerusalem yet. Wait here
for the Father to give you the Holy Spirit, just as I told you he has promised to do. 5John baptized with water, but in a few days you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit.
26
acts 1:1-11 6While the apostles were still with
Jesus, they asked him, "Lord, are you now going to give Israel its own king again?"
7Jesus said to them, "You don't need to know the time of those events that only the Father controls.
27
acts 1:1-11 8But the Holy Spirit will come upon
you and give you power. Then you will tell everyone about me in Jerusalem, in all Judea, in Samaria, and everywhere in the world.”
28
acts 1:1-11 9After Jesus had said this and while
they were watching, he was taken up into a cloud. They could not see him, 10but as he went up, they kept looking up into the sky.
Suddenly two men dressed in white clothes were standing there beside them.
29
acts 1:1-11 11They said, "Why are you men from
Galilee standing here and looking up into the sky? Jesus has been taken to heaven. But he will come back in the same way that you have seen him go."
This is the Word of the Lord.C: Thanks be to God.
30

and shout joyful praises to God. C: 2The LORD Most High is
fearsome, the ruler of all the earth.
31

R:3God has put every nation under our power,
C: 4and he chose for us the land that was the pride of Jacob, his favorite.
R:5God goes up to his throne, as people shout and trumpets blast.
32
Psalm 47 CEV
C: 6Sing praises to God our King, 7the ruler of all the earth! Praise God with songs.
R: 8God rules the nations from his sacred throne.
33
Psalm 47 CEV
C: 9Their leaders come together and are now the people of Abraham's God. All rulers on earth surrender their weapons, and God is greatly praised!

As it was in the beginning is now, and will be for ever. Amen.
34
Second readingEphesians 1:15-23
Christ is the supreme Lord over all things CEV
R: The Second Reading is written in Chapter 1 of Ephesians, beginning at Verse 15.
35
Ephesians 1:15-23 15I have heard about your faith in the
Lord Jesus and your love for all of God's people.16So I never stop being grateful for you, as I mention you in my prayers. 17I ask the glorious Father and God of our Lord Jesus Christ to give you his Spirit. The Spirit will make you wise and let you understand what it means to know God.
36
Ephesians 1:15-23 18My prayer is that light will flood your
hearts and that you will understand the hope that was given to you when God chose you. Then you will discover the glorious blessings that will be yours together with all of God's people.
37
Ephesians 1:15-23 19I want you to know about the great and
mighty power that God has for us followers. It is the same wonderful power he used 20when he raised Christ from death and let him sit at his right side in heaven. 21There Christ rules over all forces, authorities, powers, and rulers. He rules over all beings in this world and will rule in the future world as well.
38
Ephesians 1:15-23 22God has put all things under the power

but daily, in the midst of life, our Saviour with the Father
reigns.
