Our Nursery at Wyborne
• We can admit 52 children into our Nursery
(26 am and 26 pm).
• Children attend for 15 hours a week.
• The morning session is 8.30-11.30 am.
• The afternoon session is 12.30-15.30 pm.

Sessions
Our Reception at Wyborne
• 60 children - Reception Classes
• 6 staff- 2 Qualified Teachers – 4 teaching assistants.
• Learning through play, whole class teaching and group work.
• Indoors and outdoor learning plus Forest School.
• Learning Areas include ; - Physical Development - Personal, Social, Emotional Development - Communication and Language
• Other areas include Mathematics, Literacy, Understanding the
World and Expressive Arts and Design
• We encourage independence, cooperation, confidence and a desire
to learn
• Strong focus on reading, phonics and number-work.
Applying for a place in the Nursery
• Children admitted into the Nursery, the
term after their 3rd birthday.
• Waiting list opens after 2nd birthday.
• Application Forms available at our office
or can be completed online via our
website.
• Parents/Carers will be invited to attend
an open day in the
summer term
Applying for a place in Reception
If your child was born between 1st September 2011 and 31st
August 2012 then you must apply for a place at a primary school
by 15th January 2016.
Applications should be made online via
www.royalgreenwich.gov.uk/admissions
*Please remember that you do not automatically gain a place in
Reception if your child attends the Nursery at Wyborne.
Entrance Criteria• Diagnosed Special Need/existing EHC Plan – naming the
school
• Looked After Children – Children in care
• Siblings currently at Wyborne (apart from current Year 6)
• Family needs (medical/social)
• Home to School distance – straight line from centre of
home to centre of school site
• Child Care arrangements ARE NOT taken into account
Applying for a place in Reception
• Preferences- 6 Choices of Schools -If you need any assistance make an appointment with Sue Munroe (our
Family Liaison Officer).
• Allocation of School - April 2016 -Admissions will inform you of which school your child will be attending.
• Wyborne Entrants - Invited to a ‘new entrants’ meeting in the summer term
• Home Visits for Families new to Wyborne - This will be an opportunity for your child to meet the new teacher in the
home setting and for you to discuss any settling in issues.
