• GCSE in English, maths, science• QTS Skills Test passed For applications to BSU: • Predicted 2:1 an advantage• Excellent personal statement – use all your ed studies

knowledge and experience!!• Supportive reference – inform your tutor of your award, modules,

ED5001 school experience, dissertation topic • 2 weeks school experience as a minimum• Good performance at interview – group discussion which

Application for PGCE at BSU for students on a Specialized award (3+1)

• All those wishing to take up their place on the PGCE primary need to complete application to UCAS well before December 1st

• Apply for course code X174 (7-11); X100 (5-11) or X110 (3-7) • Put the phrase ‘BSU reserved place’ in the ‘personal statement’

section• Put email [email protected] in both the referee sections• Pass QTS Skills tests  (3 ATTEMPTS PER TEST ONLY)

• UCAS inform you of BSU offer and you need to accept the offer within a given time

• You must attend an information session and maths/ English audits by the PGCE team – Spring 2015

QTS Skills test in numeracy and literacy

• The QTS tests must be taken and passed before starting a PGCE course

• The tests cannot be taken before you apply for the PGCE

• You will be informed via ED6006 of a lecture on ‘What you need to know about the test’
