On behalf of the Mexican Optimist Class Association, I would like to extend a very warm welcome to all Opti-Sailors, families and offi cials, to Mexico and Nuevo Vallarta, Nayarit for the 2007 North American Optimist Championship.

The Mexican Optimist community is honored to host this event wherein 184 young sailors from 19 different countries will compete within a environment of friendship and goodwill.

With all the volunteers’ support and the professionalism of the Organizing Committee, I am sure that this Championship will be very successful; thanks to all of them!

Best wishes to all and be sure that we will work very hard to assure wonderful and memorable days in the beautiful Bahia de Banderas, Nuevo Vallarta!!!

In the name of the Mexican Sailing Federation we wish you a most pleasant stay with perfect wind, all the sun you can soak up and the ideal sailing conditions for which Bahía de Banderas is renowned.

The Federative Entity of Nayarit, in Mexico, combines the beauty of its natural resources and cultures to offer visitors a range of tourist attractions.

Hello dear OPTIMIST friends: I‘m very proud and happy that this year IODA Northamerican Championship isheld in Mexico once again. This time the place is beautiful Banderas Bay inNuevo Vallarta, Nayarit, known as heart of Mexico‘s Gold coast.

The organization of this event has only been possible, as a result of the enormous effort displayed by the organizing committee in Mexico City and inNuevo Vallarta; I would like to express my gratitude to all of them as well asto all of our sponsors. Also I would like to mention the extraordinary supportgranted by the Government of Nayarit, the Vallarta Yacht Club and the Paradise Village Marina and Resort; without their support, this event would nothave been possible.
