Labor welfare Labour welfare means wellness,health,happiness,cordial

relation, prosperity. Welfare helps in keeping the morale and motivation of the

employees high so as to retain the employees for longer duration.

Employers get stable labor force by providing welfare facilities. Workers take active interest in their jobs and work with a feeling of involvement and participation.·

It is desirable state of existence involving the physical ,mental ,moral and emotional stability.

Welfare facilities at TISCO1. TISCO has provided housing accommodation to

68% of its workers.(House rent is collected from the employees at the rate of

10% of their salary2.Provide medical facilities, runs well-equipped

hospitals in Jamshedpur,supplemented by health centers of dispensaries in

different residential location. Medical care is free for workers and their families. The

followingdata give the ratio of the no. of beds to the nos. of

employees. Nos. of beds =608, no. of employees 34,223, ratio of beds to employees 1:56.

Cou…Education receives a lot of attention: Higher

secondary Schools – 10,Middle – 3, Upper Primary – 3, Lower primary – 9.

Beside, TISCO runs 2night schools ( technical night school and adult

literacy classes) Annually,about Rs. 14 Lakhs are spent by the educational

department.

CONCLUSIONHuman resource plays an important role in any

organization . employee welfare facilities are concern to this department , if the employee happy with welfare facilities then only the productivity of that organization can be increased

Based on the study of Employee Welfare Facilities in TISCO it is clear that the company is very keen in the promoting all the welfare facilities provided by Tata steel .Employees are satisfied to medical checkup and HRA allowance.

Really company will take care about all Employees and also contract base workers.

suggestionAs per the factory act 1948,there should be a rest room with

adequate lighting facilities ,proper ventilation & sitting arrangement should be there in rest room.

To increase the awareness about welfare facilities, proper training should be given to all the workers.

Allowances for education & housing should increase.Recreational activities like sports & cultural activities should

restart.Some new should be introduce in library so that workers can

updates there knowledge, as well as proper lighting and sitting arrangement should be there in library.

The interaction between workers and management should be improve.
