Gifted Musicians Bring Christmas Joy Yesterday, the musicians and choir members treated the school
community to a magical musical concert. Over 40 pupils took
part: playing instruments and singing songs. It was very moving
to see the joy on the children’s faces and hearing them sing lyr-
ics such as:
We want our chil-
dren to be self-
confident individu-
als who love learn-
ing and enjoy work-
ing together to give to others. The chil-
dren certainly achieved this aspiration.
Thank you to Mrs Gemmill and Mr Mullaghy
for their inspirational music teaching.

Meet our Governors
The entrance to the Kingsley site is a very small cul-de-sac. We strongly
urge our car drivers to ‘Park and Stride’. To ease congestion and to make
the entrance a safer place, please find a parking space away from the en-
trance and walk instead. We strongly discourage car drivers reversing in
the school entrance. We will all be healthier and safer as a result.
Come and meet our Governors on Monday
11th December at 9 am in the Kingsley
Hall. Find out about what is happening at
school including the latest plans for our
new hall. We welcome hearing your ideas
and thoughts about our school
Would you like to help us organise a Spring Fair? If so, come along to our
meeting on Monday 11th or let the office know so that we can start plan-
ning.
We have introduced a new ‘Sanctions Poster’ in assembly with all the chil-
dren earlier this week and last. This poster is displayed in every classroom
within the school. If a child makes a poor behaviour choice the sanction
poster details the sanction they can expect, which will be consistently ap-
plied across the school. We are having a big push on behavioural standards
across the school and would be grateful if you could ask your child how the
poster works! We have attached a copy of the Behaviour Sanctions poster
to this newsletter. Most children will never have to worry about this, but
being aware of the rules and consequences makes Welldon Park Primary a
happier place to be for everyone!

A Welcome to Mr Rogers! Those of you with a keen eye may have noticed a new adult , Mr Rogers,
working within the school with a particular focus on KS2. Mr Rogers is
the Deputy Head Teacher of Priestmead Primary School in Kenton and is
working with us a day or two a week focussing on behaviour standards,
assessment, teaching and learning in Key Stage 2. Mr Rogers is really en-
joying working with us getting to know the children and our community.
Please help Mr Rogers feel welcome at the school, the children have al-
ready made a very positive impression on him.
Ms Evelyn, our office Manager, is moving on to
pastures new. We are very grateful to Ms Eve-
lyn for the hard work that she has done behind
the scenes with our finances and administration.
We wish her well for her new role and thank her
for all that has been achieved.
Congratulations to
Mrs Sealey and her
family on the birth of
Elijah. We wish her
and her family all the
very best at this joy-
ful time.

Harrow Council has updated its policy on School Attendance and Education Penalty Notices. If your child is ab-sent from school without satisfactory reason, you may be issued with a Penalty Notice. Harrow Council will be issuing one EPN per parent per child where a child is absent from school without authorisation from the Head teacher and where the child has:
At least 20 sessions (10 school days) of unauthorised absences within a period of no more than 12 weeks (term time).
A leave of absence of at least 10 consecutive sessions (5 school days) not approved by head teacher as exceptional.
In cases where a child persistently arrives at school after the register has closed and has received at least eight (8) unauthorised late marks within a period of ten (10) weeks (term time).
Where the child has attendance below 90% and at least 5% absences are unauthorised. Please note that it is the Head teacher who must determine whether an absence can be authorised in line with
the statutory regulations and guidance. Head teachers are not permitted to authorise leave of absence for holi-
days during term time.

Did you know the government gives additional
funding to schools for those children entitled to
free school meals (even if they don't have a school
meal)?
Welldon Park Primary will use this money to obtain
additional staff and resources that help improve
the quality of education.
