Roy Lichtenstein
Born October 27th 1923
Died September 29th 1997 (73)
Lived in New York
Children were called Isabel and Dorothy
Lichtenstein was an American Pop Artist like Andy Warhol.
Lichtenstein used the comic strip as his inspiration and enjoyed putting humour into his work making it funny.
You will be able to see that he only uses primary colours (very occasionally you will see green in use) but simply you are working with red, blue, yellow, white and black.
This is mainly because comic strips used to be printed in this fashion overlaying different primary colours to achieve new colour combinations.
Here are some more examples of his artwork
This is his most recently sold piece of artwork it sold for just over $56,000,000 !
