O Lord our God, our talents and gifts are so insufficient to our challenges. We rejoice that

your grace is sufficient for us and for the body of Christ, the church. You reveal that power

is made perfect in weakness. Help us to receive this truth. When we face hardships,

persecution and difficulties for your sake, may we trust that you are at work to help us and

the world. Use these offerings to strengthen our witness as disciples of Jesus Christ, for we

pray in his name. Amen.

Fun in the Son 2016!

The dates are set (July 31- August 4) and plans are being made for our VBS-

like program this summer at Richards West Park for children age 5-12. This

is a program designed for children and families who live in the

neighborhood near the park, but children from Wesley and Zion UMC’s are

invited and encouraged to join us each night too.

Join us each night at the park from 5:30 pm – 7:30 pm, Sunday through

Thursday, July 31 – Aug. 4. We begin with a meal and then continue with

music, Bible stories, games and crafts.

Each year, we have provided backpacks with some school supplies to the

children who have been attending for the week. Here’s one way that you

can help us – if able, please donate colored pencils, glue sticks, markers,

Crayola crayons, pencils, pocket folders and boxes of tissues. There is a

collection box at the church.

Another way that you can help is to volunteers to help with crafts, games,

meals, or being a shepherd for a group of children. Watch for a sign-up

sheet at church soon or contact Judy Christy at djee@gra.midco.net.

2016 Mission u

July 21-24

University of Jamestown

Each summer, United Methodist Women of the Dakotas Conference host a learning

experience called Mission u. This year the themes for study focus on “Learning Together for Transformation of the World”. It’s not too

early to plan to attend this July’s session. There are three topics that will be studied –

“The Bible and Human Sexuality”, “Latin America: People and Faith”, and “Climate

Justice: Call to Hope and Action”. Mission u is open to anyone who wants to attend – it’s not

just for women. Pick up a brochure on the table in the lobby for more information and a registration form or talk to Wesley UMW co-

presidents Berniece Holm & Judy Christy.
