Attacks of colic, chol-
One of the mmt severe windstorms of tbo season, accompanied by bail and rain, swept oyer this district last Thursday evening. On the Third Lino there was considerable llama p i done. A large willow tree measuring 13 feet around, in Mr AihtmDewar’a yardT wu« smashed and uprooted The ro*'ts wero 15 It long, a branch o f which can bo eetn in this office, the bark twin g peeled from it. His or* chard, too, suffered great damage, fences were strewn in all directions. The i?torm played hu toe with limber along its path and when it came to Mr. Conrad Mowrer 'a place It claim, ed his windmill for its victim . The windstorm wua followed on Friday night by a M r ere electric atorui, hut from reports coming from other places it was mild here in comparison . Tiie rain on Thursday and Friday fell in torrents and the river was fall to overflowing.
The immensity of nature's forces was tihowg in the cloud burst o f rain and wind which swept over the district from Brant county to Niagara Falls on Friday afternoon last. In an hour's time that entiro district was deluged, many trees, houses and barns being destroyed ar da magod along its path. It passed along quicker than the -fastest train and exerted a power whose motive force made iho inventions o f mart seem puuy. The storm passed as quickly us it came and a few minutes later the *un looked placidly upon the sceua o f wreckage.
