With all of the upheaval in our community and in the world this year, Women ’s Economic Ventures knows how

important it is to make time to celebrate local small businesses.

Our favorite part of past WEV Celebrations has always been WEV ’s Shop Local Market. We will continue the

tradition this year, with a new, VIRTUAL marketplace experience to drive customers to WEV clients ’ e-

commerce sites.

Why WEV’s Market?

WEV is excited to support local business owners by helping

promote traffic to their websites during the holiday shopping

season at no cost to you! WEV will utilize our platform and

our marketing resources to boost holiday sales and help

businesses end 2020 strong.

When will the Market be live?

The WEV Shop Local Market will be live on WEV’s website

November 17 – December 13, 2020.

How will WEV promote the Market?

WEV will promote the Market through our social media

channels and in our newsletter, as part of our annual

Celebration event. We will also provide vendors with a

toolkit to promote shopping local through your channels.

How much does a Market listing cost?

Eligible businesses will be listed at no cost to the vendor.

Space is limited. If you would like to be listed, we encourage you to submit an application as early as possible.

To participate, your business must meet all of the

following requirements:

Must have something to sell suitable for a local

shopping market (consumer goods, gift certificates).

Must be owned by one of the following:

o A current or past WEV client (having

received training, advising, or a loan/grant

from WEV);

o A Spirit of Entrepreneurship finalist; or

o A current League of Extraordinary Women

member.

Must currently own and operate a business.

Must have a live e-commerce site where customers

can directly purchase items.

If you have checked all of the boxes above, you are eligible

for a listing on WEV’s virtual Shop Local Market.

Please note that all listings are subject to approval by WEV

staff, who will review for accuracy of content and quality of

images. If edits are needed or if you are not eligible for a

listing, staff will notify you.

How to Apply WEV’s Virtual Shop Local Market Application is now available online. Before logging on to submit, please prepare the following:

*Formatting Your Images

Please ensure all images are high quality, square (400 x 400 pixels), and in .jpeg or .png format.

For service businesses offering gift cards or certificates, we suggest including an image of service itself.

For example, a nail salon offering gift cards on their e-commerce site could feature an image of a manicure.

**Product URL Recommendations

To prevent visitors navigating directly to items on your site that may be sold out or discontinued, we strongly recommend

using links to the product category on your site, rather than the specific product.

For example, if your featured product is a bathrobe, use the URL for your Robes & Sleepwear page, instead of the

link to the particular robe featured in the image.
