What We Offer The theatre arts program’s vision is to develop students into well-trained performers in the different areas of theatre and lifelong learners with high critical thinking skills. The program’s mission is to get students ready to audition for any theatre university. Our high school will provide them with opportunities of performances, competitions, internships, and more to allow them to practice their craft and build their resume. 1. Complete form

2. Submit full body photograph(good quality and face shown)

3. Student will improvise a scene withgiven circumstances

3. Cold reading of short dialogue

4. Perform a monologue

Memorize a contemporary monologue (under two minutes)Piece should be from a published play/book (no film/TV scripts, no original material)

Choose material within age range. Props and costumes are not permitted

Perform with natural voice. Do not add accents to your monologue

5. Students pursuing Musical Theatre track should be prepared to sing two bars of a musical theatre piece. Audio on piece should include choreography.

Judges Are Looking For:

Expression Proficient Readers | Strong Voice and Articulate Creative Movement | Stage Presence | Open to Feedback | Well-prepared Audition Piece

Curriculum

Selection Process

1st Year

1st Block : Theatre Theory & Acting

2nd Block : Musical Theatre or Scene Work

2nd Year

1st Block : Theatre Theory & Acting II

2nd Block : Musical Theatre II or Scene Work II

3rd Year

1st Block : Theatre Theory & Acting III2nd Block : Musical Theatre III or Scene Work III

4th Year

1st Block : Playwriting & Auditions Preparation 2nd Block : Senior Project

2nd semester1st Block : Directing/Acting IV2nd Block : Senior Project Presentations

*Every theatre major will receive technical theatre training at least once a week and will have to complete technical theatre hours per semester.

To remain in good standing, student actors will complete each of their theatre courses with a “B” as a final semester grade or higher. By the end of the program, students will leave with a digital portfolio, photographs and a resume to go to the next level.

Students will receive ongoing assessments. By the end of first semester students will have a personal conference to discuss progress and areas of improvement.

At the end of 10th grade faculty will conduct juries to determine if student will continue to the next level.
