Spanish is also different from English because there are many ways to say “the” in Spanish.

•El (masculino singular)

•La (femenina singular

•Los (masculino plural

•Las (femenina plural)

Usually a noun is masculine if it ends in…

a However, when a word ends in any other letter (z, e, r, etc.) you need to memorize the definite article with the noun.

In Spanish, the definite article that accompanies a noun will match its gender and number.

Some nouns have 1 form that are both masculine and feminine.

A noun may sometimes appear with an indefinite article. In English the INDEFINITE articles are “a” or “some”.

The indefinite articles that accompanies a nouns will also match its gender and number.
