VOYAGER 1 & 2

The Twin Voyager 1 & 2 was launched in 1977. The primary mission of the probe was to explore Jupiter and Saturn.

Some of their discoveries were the active volcanoes on Jupiter’s moon, ‘Lo’ and intricacies of Saturn’s ring.

The mission of Voyager 2 was extended and went to explore Uranus and Neptune.

MARS ROVER

A Mars Rover is an automated vehicle which propels itself across the surface of the planet Mars upon arrival.

It has more advantage than an astronaut going to Mars because it examines more territory, they can be directed to interesting features and they can place themselves in sunny positions to weather winter months.

ISS

The ISS (International Space Station) is a habitable artificial satellite where people can live and work a long period of time.

It is the largest artificial body in orbit. It can be seen using our naked eyes (at an approriate time)

GEOSYNCHRONOUS SATELLITE

This satellite rotate once per day to stay directly on the same area of earth.

This satellite have the special property of remaining permanently fixed in exactly the same position in the sky.

This satellite are often used for communication purposes.

HUBBLE SPACE TELESCOPE

The HST is a space telescope that was launched into low Earth on 1990 and remains in operation.

It takes very high resolution pictures with almost no background light and allow deep view into space.

The telescope is named after the astronomer Edwin Hubble.
