• Incoming freshman were selected for E.L.I.T.[e] during 1st Quarter

• 20-30 mentors for 50-75 mentees.

• Field trips served as E.L.I.T.[e] bonding events

To provide resources and supports for freshmen transitioning to Jones; to enhance freshmen students’ self-advocacy, community engagement, problem-solving and academic help-seeking skills; and to ensure a fulfilling, engaging and challenging mentorship experience for JCP mentors that will enhance their leadership and relationship-building skills.

To foster a safe, inclusive school environment that promotes holistic student development, encourages student agency and empowerment, and sustains the Jones legacy of community-centered service and support.

The ProgramEagle Leaders In Training [e] is a comprehensive freshman mentorship program supported by an academic class for the junior/senior mentors.

• 1-on-1 and small group mentorship for freshmen throughout their 1st year at JCP

• Leadership theory and community advocacy education for mentors (via the classroom curriculum)

• Conflict resolution, communication strategy and case management support (via the freshman/sophomore counseling team lessons and check-ins)
