FUNDING REQUESTED

FUNDING AVAILABLEvs.

Approximately 200 Community Investment Volunteers, all of whom are

donors, spend over 4,000 hours reviewing agency budgets, audits and other

financial reports, program outcomes and performance histories.

Community Investment Volunteers visit Partner Agencies to see first-hand the work being

accomplished with United Way funds.

Community Investment Volunteers meet to discuss funding recommendations for each United Way program.

The Community Investment Committee operates within the United Way of Central

Oklahoma’s Board of Directors to review and balance funding recommendations from the

donor volunteers against the contributed funds available for allocation.

When the funding balance is complete, the Community Investment Committee submits a final

recommendation to the United Way of Central Oklahoma’s Board of Directors for approval.

8The truth is...you don’t really have to change the world. You can just do something that would mean the world to someone else – a kid, an older adult, or a single mom. A person like you who just needs a little help to get back on their feet. All you have to do is make a donation to United Way of Central Oklahoma. A small, a medium, a large…any size donation. And, we send it back into the community through the 61 United Way Partner Agencies we support. These are central Oklahoma agencies, helping central Oklahoma people. All because you know that changing the world starts with changing your community…which starts with you. So join us in making good things happen by supporting the United Way of Central Oklahoma’s mission and make your pledge or donation today. Give just a few dollars and the whole community keeps the change! Our unique allocation process, illustrated on the following page, allows us to remain transparent and accountable. Donors like you volunteer their time to review United Way funded program budgets, IRS 990’s, audits and program outcomes. Following this review, volunteer teams make funding recommendations based on their findings and the program funding request, with United Way’s Board of Directors making the final funding decision. This process ensures your contribution is invested in the best possible way.

Wouldn’t it be great to change the world? WHAT HAPPENS TO MY GIFT?The Community Investment Process
