What is a music video?

• A music video is a a type of short film that is supposed to represent the singers or bands song, depending on what the song is about it can represent the mood, for example if the song is about love it may have scenes in the music video that come out as romantic. The music videos are purely designed to give the viewer entertainment while listening to the song.

Music Channels that play music.

A Music Video Example• Here is a video wich is quite popular due to

the contrast of two genres “hip hop” and “rock”. The hip hop group run dmc, and rock band Aerosmith formed a song together wich was strange due to it being the first ever rock and hiphop song duo.

Music Video Examples-Successful• Successful Music Video:The song gangnam style is successfully known due to it’s 2.4 Billion views it has on YouTube. The Korean pop group, PSY created this song and within 8 months of being up it hit 1.2 billion views on YouTube, the reason I used this as an example is because no other song has been so successful on YouTube with that many views so quickly, it still holds the record now for most viewed video on YouTube

Music Video Examples-• Performance Music Video:The song that’s not me my skepta ft. jme, gives the viewer a sort of live performance as it shows him constantly face to face with the camera. In the video he doesn’t stop playing once as he is constantly going at it and at it when rapping which we as the viewer can call a good performance.
