The English translation is vit•ri•fy: To change or make into glass or glassy substance, especially through heat fusion. Vitrified ceramics have been fired to a higher temperature than normal. This high fire makes the ceramic body so dense, it becomes glass-like, or vitrified. Because of this, vitrified ceramic mugs are impervious to water ab- sorption in hot commercial dishwashers - the leading cause of ceramics breaking down in a commercial setting. This line of Vitrified Ceramics from Buntingware™ is manufactured to stand up to the rigors of commercial use. They are ideal for use in Restaurants, Cafeterias, Hotels, Catering Businesses, or in any situation where durable ceramics are needed.
