The anonymity of every participant will be respected.

Policies and Guidelines

This is an alcohol and drug free closed event for ALCOHOLISM AND CHEMICAL DEPENDENCY ONLY. In that light, we welcome both persons in recovery and people who have the desire to explore their personal recovery. This includes family members, significant others, and rabbis. ALL REGISTRANTS WILL BE REVIEWED FOR QUALIFICATION. JACS HAS THE RIGHT TO REFUSE ANY REGISTRATION.

You must be 18+ to attend the JACS retreat Infants 18 months or younger are permitted.

There is no smoking permitted inside the hotel. Smoking in rooms will result in the hotel charging responsible parties on the reservation with a $300 fine. Pets are not welcome.

Catering

Five Star Caterers will be catering the event; Chasidishe Shcita, Cholov Yisroel and Pas Yisroel

Kosher dietary laws strictly observed.

While we try to accommodate dietary needs; if there is something specific that you prefer or need, please call the JACS office to make your requests. The dining room is Glatt Kosher and REGARDLESS OF WHAT FOOD YOU HAVE, OUTSIDE FOOD CANNOT BE BROUGHT IN. The snack table is also Glatt Kosher. If you are using a food scale it must be used at your dining table–not in any common buffet area. Please respect this policy, The JACS retreat is not about food.

Please be considerate of the hotel and our group by cleaning up after yourself. There is no food permitted in the meeting areas.

Registration

Registration closes on Monday, June 19, 2017 at 4:00 PM. Fee includes event registration, programming, and catering. Rates listed below are for JACS members paying in full on or before the specified dates. Hotel room costs are not included.

Participants MUST reserve a room and pay the Sheraton Parsippany Hotel directly, 973.515.2000. Rooms are on a first come, first served basis and are available to participants after retreat registration is completed with the JACS office. Rooms at the JACS rate are limited

Registration Fees

On or before 4/3/17 Early Bird: $218 4/4/17 to 5/31/17 Discounted: $250 6/1/17 to 6/19/17 Standard: $295

There is a $99 NON-NEGOTIABLE/NON-REFUNDABLE PROCESSING FEE for returned checks, declined credit cards, and cancellations prior to June 19, 2017. There is NO REFUND after June 19. Full payment must accompany completed registration forms. ONLY completed forms will be accepted. Any incomplete forms submitted will be discarded. Phone registrations will not be accepted. Faxing checks is NOT permitted.

Membership

All event participants MUST be JACS members. Membership is valid for one year after payment. Fees are non-refundable and are listed below:

Individual: $36 (One adult person) Professional: $75 (Includes Rabbis) Institutional: $125 (An institution & its employees)

Financial Aid

Scholarships are available! Applications are welcome! To request financial help, an additional completed form MUST accompany this registration form and be received no later than 5/5/17. Please contact JACS at 212.632.4600 or [email protected] for the application.

Transportation

The Sheraton Parsippany Hotel is located 30 minutes from the Newark Liberty International Airport, 25 miles from New York City and an hour from LaGuardia and JFK International Airports. In addition, there are train stations nearby in Morristown and Morris Plains. JACS is not responsible for transportation.

Support the JACS Scholarship Fund

Contributions for scholarships are welcome–no donation is too small. Let’s make it work and help “Plant a Jew in recovery.”
