WHAT IS DATAGUARD? DataGuard is an energy data privacy program developed by industry stakeholders to establish a voluntary code of conduct for service providers to ensure the proper handling of customer data. DataGuard has five core principles. 1. Customer Notice & Awareness Customers should be aware of data collection and privacy policies, as well as choices and responsibilities. 3. Customer Data Access Customers should be able to access their data in a standard, convenient, and timely manner. 5. Self-enforcement Management & Redress Customer data practices and policies should be reviewed and updated on a regular basis. 2. Customer Choice & Consent Customers should be able to control access to their data. 4.
