o Very little energy at this level
o Usually its rare to be at this level

o Moves from the lowest level to the highest level
o 90% of the energy is used up at each level in order for the organism to properly function
o The original energy comes from the sun.

o Largest number of individuals that can survive over long periods of time in a given environment.
o This level depends on the effect of the limiting factors
