The new rules say people with disabilities should be part of their communities and not be separated.
Community means spending most of the time you are getting services around non-disabled people who are not paid to be with you.
By March 2022 for everyone.
Right away for self-determination.

When will Self-Determination Begin?
1. Law says we need to get funding and approval from the federal government, called a “waiver.”
2. California will send in the waiver application by end of January, 2018.
3. Federal government will respond within 90 days. 4. In the meantime…A LOT of planning and training to
be done!

! Submit your information on the card we will hand out
! You will need your UCI# (Unique Client Identifier)
! We will send the names to DDS (Department of Developmental Services). DDS will send you a confirmation letter saying you will be in the lottery.
! If picked, you must attend an orientation
