Hello to all our Northern Carers, and also new Carers that have recently joined our service. December has certainly rushed upon us, and plans for the big day would have already started by most people. We hope that some of your plans will include family and friends which is really important at this time of year. We held our final Carer Advisory Group meeting for the year on 12 November , and will advise of how the CAG will be structured for next year over the coming weeks. If you are interested in committees or groups that in Carers best interest, please call me to discuss , as we are very keen to hear from you. In this issue there is an expression of inter-est form that you can fill out and drop into the office, or give to your local Carer support worker to hand in on your behalf. Helpful Hint Use up leftover Christmas pudding
Christmas pudding rolls: simply roll out a pack of shop-bought puff pastry, cov-er it with chunks of leftover pud, then roll up and chop into equal sections. Pop into a 200C/400F/Gas 6 oven for around 20 minutes, or until crispy. You can also mix crumbled Christmas pudding into ice cream for an easy dessert to scoff in front of the television.

Hello to all our carers and welcome to our new carers. Yes it’s that time of year again and what a year it has been. Merry Christmas to all. I hope you all have a wonder-ful Christmas and Santa brings you some lovely gifts. Also Happy New Year. 2019 is fast approaching and I again I hope you all have a great New Year. The Aboriginal Reference group is looking for new members. The Aboriginal Reference Group is a group consist-ing of local representative Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander carers and local providers of Aboriginal services who meet together on a quarterly basis to discuss matters affecting Aboriginal carers in the regional area. They give advice to Carers SA and other Aboriginal service providers about matters affecting Abo-riginal carers throughout the region and to discuss current Aboriginal services and service gaps and brainstorm ideas to address the gaps. If you are interested in being involved with this group, please give me a call on 8641 1844 or pop into the office to have a chat. Groups and events have been arranged for all the region and if you can make it I would love to see you there, but please remember if you wish to attend any of the events or carer groups, remember to register your in-terest with the office for catering purposes. And a final note for 2018, I will be away on annual leave from the Thursday 21st December and returning on Mon-day 21st January 2019 . During this time if you wish to talk or register for any groups and events, please contact the office on 8641 1844. The office will be closed from Friday 21st December and re-opens on Wednesday 2nd January 2019. Cheers Di (Aboriginal Project Worker)
All groups in December 2018 and January 2019 are combined groups.
Please see page 3 for all the details of groups being held through the region during these times.
Please note that luncheons through December are our Christmas gatherings therefore Carers will only be able to nominate for one of these events.
