Transfer to a 4-year University for a Bachelor of Arts/Science Degree (B.A. or B.S.)

Earn an Associate of Arts/Science Degree (A.A. or A.S.)

Complete Certificates

Your first step towards a Bachelor’s Degree!

Units: 60 applicable units Residency: 12 units completed at your chosen community

college;

Major: 6 units in classes specifically for your chosen major

= A minimum of 18 units (6 courses) with a letter grade of “C” or better

Complete required competencies (Reading, Writing & Math)

Community colleges commonly have three (3) different general education patterns.

Plan A = General Education Courses for Associate degree only

Plan B = General Education-Breadth Courses for CSU

Plan C = General Education-Breadth Courses For CSU or UC (otherwise known as the IGETC)

What Associate Degrees for Transfer do community colleges offer?

Students who earn these degrees will be granted priority admission to a CSU campus in a baccalaureate (BA) degree program or one similar with a guarantee of junior standing as long as the student meets all prescribed admission requirements.

2. Complete the Early Assessment Program placement tests for math & English (EAP) – Palomar College’s Test

3. Orientation

5. Enroll in classes – ASAP

Steps to Become Matriculated(Registered)

Take Early Assessment Placement tests (EAP) in ENGLISH and MATH to:-- determine your preparedness/placement for math & English courses

1. Take Palomar College EAP / EAP test scores submission (applying to Palomar College first is necessary)

2. Complete the Mira Costa Online Application process

3. Send your Palomar’s EAP test scores to Mira Costa College
