North Eastman Health Association

Early childhood tooth decay is a serious health concern. It can cause problems with eating, sleeping, speech, behaviour, learning, and overall health. To prevent these issues, and others, limit sugar intake, visit a dentist regularly and help children brush their teeth for two minutes at least twice a day.

Quitting smoking offers a number of almost im mediate health benefits. Within 8 hours: Carbon monoxide levels in your body drop and oxygen level in your blood in creases to normal. Within 48 hours: Your chances of having a heart attack decreases and your sense of taste and smell begin to improve. Within 72 hours: Breathing becomes easier and lung capacity increases. Within 2 weeks to 6 months: Circulation im proves and coughing, sinus congestion, tiredness and shortness of breath improve. 1 year after quitting: Risk of a smokingrelated heart attack is cut in half
