torrent from "busted" pipes; snakes.
• Room 2: A garden surrounded with electric wires, the shocks of which grew in intensity as time went on. Players also could not wear socks or shoes during this round.
• Room 3: A study constructed to have its walls and ceiling close in, crushing furniture, as the space in the room grew smaller.
Vault: Chad had one leg shackled to a chain on the floor that limited his range of movement to just short of the door. He had to either find a key or use some of the tools available in the safe deposit boxes to cut himself free. Chad escaped the vault, winning $28,511 for the evening.
BANK OF CHALLENGES (18 sample challenges)
Sample Challenges• The Flooding Room: Estate Basement
The Estate’s Guests follow their host to the
Estate’s Basement. When the contestants enter the room,
the pipes suddenly burst and flood the room with over 2
meters deep of water. And just when the Guests think it
can’t get any worse… 20 pythons slither out of the pipes
and into the room.
• The Shock Garden: Estate Garden
The Estate’s Guests follow their host out of the Estate and
into the Garden. There they learn that the host has an
interesting idea of “Home Security”. The entire Garden is a
maze of zigzagging electric wires that shock you at the
touch. While maneuvering through the Garden to find the
hidden money, the cast also learns the host has a Fire Ant
problem as well!
Sample Challenges• The Attic: The Estate’s Attic
The Estate’s Guests follow the Butler up the stairs and deep into the Estate to the Attic. The door opens and all the Estate’s Guests see are cobwebs. The room is a maze of cobwebs, old furniture, wood beams and hundreds of years of junk! One of the Guests searching for cash opens the lid of an old piano and they suddenly realize who made the cobwebs, as 50 large tarantulas race out and throughout the room. Another guest climbs into the Attic’s closet, and gets locked in!
• The Graveyard: The Estate’s Family Cemetery
The Estate’s Guests follow the Butler outside of the Estate and to the family Cemetery. They race about, digging up coffins, finding old family members with money. and maggots/worms crawling in their pockets and all over the bones. The Guests find money in thorn bushes, under tombstones, inside statues and buried everywhere they look. An old Mausoleum in the back may hold a fortune, or prove to be one of the guest’s final resting places. Oh. And then someone releases the hounds!
Sample Challenges• The Mudslide Room: The Estate’s Study
The Estate’s Guests follow their host to the Estate’s study. At first the room looks like a normal study, guns and animal trophies on the walls, an old desk and lots of books. Then, while looking for money, the Guest’s concentration is broken by a low rumbling sound, and suddenly, thousands of gallons of mud start pouring out from behind the paintings. The Guests struggle to crawl through the sludge that is flooding the room, and as they crawl they come face to face with giant snakes!
• The Trash Compactor: The Estate’s Garbage Chute
The Guests follow the Butler to the trash room. They start digging through trash bags, through the garbage looking for money (including last night’s dinner). Suddenly, the walls start closing in, crushing the trash and the Guests! The Guests scamper around, trying to find more money, as the walls get closer, the trash gets higher, and more disgusting waste continues to dump onto their heads.
Sample Challenges• The Dark Room: The Estate’s Meat Locker
The Host takes the contestants deep into the Estate. He stops at one door, and just smiles. He opens the door and they walk into complete darkness. The Guests can’t see a thing; they are walking on a crunchy, slippery floor and occasionally bumping into slimy and cold objects hanging around the room. Suddenly the lights flicker for 1 second, and the contestants realize giant slabs of meat, whole pigs, and lots of animal innards surround them. Is that money they are grabbing, or just pieces of newspaper? They won’t know until they get out…. if they could only find the door!
• The Gopher Holes: The Estate’s Grounds
The host tells his Guests that he has had a slight rodent problem and sends them deep under the Estate in giant gopher holes. The guests climb and dig through the dirt for cash, avoiding piles of worms and grubs and other nasty critters, and the occasional cave in. Ultimately, one of the tunnels collapses and one of the Guests becomes fertilizer.
Sample Challenges• The Blizzard Room: The Estate’s Kitchen Freezer
The host sends his Guests down to the kitchen’s freezer. They enter and the entire room is made of ice. Ice blocks, ice sculptures and even a few freezers full of ice cream and novelties. Suddenly, as the contestants are breaking apart ice blocks and ice cream wrappers to find the cash, the room becomes engulfed in a giant snow blizzard.
• The Sandstorm Room: The Estate’s Antiquity Room
The host walks his Guests to his “favorite” room in the house. The Guests walk in and see that the Estate’s former patriarch was a fan of Egypt. They are searching through hieroglyphics, statues of sphinxes and even a couple mummies when the room suddenly starts filling with sand. The Guest must hurry through the suddenly waist deep sand to find the exit, before they too will join the Mummies in the desert.
Sample Chellenges• The Shrinking Room: Estate Library The Estate’s Guests follow their host to Library; the host just smiles and
tells them to enjoy themselves. The Guests enter the room and suddenly they start feeling like things are getting a little tight… but its not them, it’s the room! Before the contestants realize it, the walls and ceilings of this room starts crashing towards them. The walls and ceiling are crushing all the furniture they touch, and quickly the two terrariums in the room filled with worms and crabs and cash break and the little critters are tossed across the room.
• Crawlspace: The Estate’s Underside The host leads his Guests deep into the Estate; he suddenly stops and
reaches for one of the doors. Before he opens it he turns and says, “Watch your heads”. And the door opens revealing a brick wall, and below it, only a 1meter high hole. The Guests climb inside and quickly realize they are crawling under the house. Cobwebs are everywhere, and as the Guests scour on their hands and knees through the ancient and broken remnants of the Estate’s past they quickly find some other past guests. Spiders and snakes start falling from above, through the rickety ceiling above them.
Sample Challenges• Sewer Tunnels: The Estate’s Plumbing System
The host leads the Guests through the Estate’s Grounds to the very smelly, rotting sewer tunnels. The Guests dive head first up the Estate’s Sewer tunnels to find the cash. They are quickly lost in the dark, tangled maze underneath the Estate. Dark, smelly and disgusting, the Guests crawl through garbage bags and centuries of muck trying to find
the one way out.
• The Electric Room: The Estates Generator Room The Host leads his Guests through the labyrinth of hallways
inside the Estate, stopping finally at an unremarkable door. He opens it and wishes his Guests well. The second they enter; they realize they are over their heads. Their feet are shocked by the floor, and electric wires zigzag through the room. Guests need to duck and weave through the room, trying their best not to be shocked silly while grabbing the money.
Sample Challenges• The Demolition Room: The Estate’s Wine Cellar The Butler leads the Guests down into the Estate’s basement and to the
wine cellar. The Guests quickly start searching through the Estate’s wine barrels and rack, when a sudden rumble startles everyone. Suddenly a bottle falls, and another, and then the Guests realize giant spikes are coming out of the walls. The Guests dodge the spikes and the falling bottles. After 20 spikes have entered the room, and the Guests think the worst is behind them the walls start collapsing in on them.
• The Exploding Ballroom: The Estate’s Nursery The Guests are hurried to this kid’s room. Old, broken toys lay scattered
everywhere. A very life-like and unnerving clown sits in the corner. A loud noise fills the room and then quickly the room starts filling with dozens of giant balloons. As they pop, slime, powder, cash and water fly across the room and all over the contestants.
Sample Challenges• The Storm Drains: The Estate’s Irrigation system The Estate’s Irrigation System THE STORM DRAINS: The Estate’s
Irrigation System The Host walks the Guests out of the Estate and into the garden. He shows them the irrigation system and without warning sends them deep into the dark maze. As the Guests crawl on their hands and knees a slow rumbling sound builds. They look into the darkness and are suddenly engulfed in a torrent of water. Trashed around and maybe even spit out of the pipe, the Guests struggle forward looking for money, through dousing and dousing of water until they hopefully reach the dry exit.
• The Sinking Room: The Estate’s Kitchen The host leads the Guests to his kitchen, briefly reminding them to “step lively.”
The Guests rush into the room and are instantly stopped in their tracks… literally. Their feet sink into the seemingly solid floor. They can’t move. Shoes and pants are sucked off by the floors strength. Then, they realize that if they move quickly, they won’t sink through the floor. It’s only when they move slowly does the substance suck them down. Guests climb on top of kitchen counters and appliances, ripping apart turkey dinners, cakes, breads and a refrigerator full of food looking for money.
