Solidarit is an outstanding

example of young peopledemonstrating that they care aboutthose less well off thanthemselves.Solidarit also sets a fineexample for employees of the EUInstitutions and helps to do somefantastic work in Brussels.

For meit means to help

people who do nothave it as easy as

everyone else.

Being active in Solidarit is animportant part of my experience as a

stagiaire of a European Institution.

It has represented an opportunity tomeet different people from diversecultural backgrounds across theworld who share the same desire tostart making a difference throughsmall actions and with the motivationto reach out to those in need.

What is Solidarit for me?

an opportunity to get out of oursmall, protected EU cocoon and getinvolved with the real world

a chance to broaden one's horizons,to learn and gain valuable

experience from other people fromVERY different backgrounds.

an opportunity to meet othermotivated and enthusiastic people(in general) and stagiaires (inparticular), people I wouldn'totherwise have met.

Solidaritbrings me closer tothe local community

gives me contact with peoplewho I wouldnt normally have theopportunity to meet and talk to

is a great sharing experience.

Whether you give love, time,money or helpful support to aperson or a group of people

who need it, then you are under

Solidaritbehaviour.

Solidarit:

For me Solidarit is an idea which is a part of the values ofthe EU. It tries to improve some difficult situations for people.

I was at a Conference this week with M. Rocard (ex PrimeMinister of France). He said, "Today, the EU manages itswealth and youths deal with suffering" in the world.Participants in Solidarit try to help at their own level.

To improve the lives of people in need.

It was the best part of my Stage!
