SHOP. DONATE. VOLUNTEER.
There's a new way to support Chaplaincy Hospice Care— Repeat Boutique. Whether you choose to shop, donate or volunteer at Repeat Boutique, your time will benefit patients and families cared for in the hospice house and in our in-home hospice program.
The idea for Repeat Boutique, or a hospice thrift store, isn’t new, in fact, there are hundreds of them across the nation. Gary Castillo, executive director of Chaplaincy Health Care explains how the idea for Repeat Boutique came to be. “Very often we have families who have items they’d like to donate after a loved-one passes and for the longest time we just couldn’t take them. We’ve talked about a thrift store but nobody on staff knew how to run one. Then Greta Dority came along. She was hired as our Volunteer Services Supervisor in 2015 and had previously run a thrift store. It wasn’t long before she was asking why we didn’t have one. We started talking about it, a great location became available, and things just started falling into place.”
“Chaplaincy Repeat Boutique will be a tremendous opportunity for our volunteers to help support
Hospice in a new and fun way. When families lose someone, they often don’t know what to do with their
possessions. Now they can donate them to us and help support our hospice services,” explains Greta.
Repeat Boutique will feature gently used clothing and accessories for men, women and children; household items, furniture, home décor and more. In addition, a bridal boutique featuring new wedding gowns and dresses donated by The Purple Parasol, will be available by appointment.
Volunteers will staff the store and Greta will provide oversight of the overall operations. There are future plans to use the space for arts and craft classes and even special events.
The store is located at 22 West Kennewick Avenue in Downtown Kennewick near Washington Hardware. A grand opening and ribbon cutting is planned for Friday, March 31, 2017, at 11:30 a.m. Shopping hours will be Monday–Saturday, 10:00 a.m.–6:00 p.m. Beginning April 1, donations will be accepted Monday–Saturday, 11:30 a.m–5:30 p.m.
Stay tuned for more announcements, including the store’s Facebook page and website where you can get a first look at the newest merchandise to hit the sales floor.

HeART of Healing A Benefit for Cork’s PlaceThursday, April 27, 2017 | 6:00–9:00 pm | Anthology Event Center, Richland
“Healing is an art. It takes time, it takes practice. It takes love.” - Maza Dohta
HeART of Healing is a new benefit for Cork’s Place, our local grief support program for children, teenagers, and families. Cork’s Place helps youth in our community who are experiencing loss. We provide a safe place where families receive support from trained compassionate facilitators while connecting with others who are grieving.
Art can be a powerful tool when finding the right words to express deep feelings is impossible. Our HeART of Healing event will feature original artwork created by local grieving children and teenagers. Guests will enjoy the exhibit, a silent auction, wine, appetizers, and a moving program.
Proceeds from HeART of Healing will go to our “Cork’s Cares Fund” providing the services of Cork’s Place for free to those in our community. Tickets are $50 per person. For more information or to purchase tickets, please go to the event calendar on our website (chaplaincyhealthcare.org/events) or call us at (509) 783-7416.

GRIEF SUPPORT GROUPS AND CLASSES
Coping with the death of a loved one can be difficult. Some people seek the individual assistance of a Grief Care Specialist. Others prefer spending time with a small group of people working together through their grief. Whatever you choose, we are here to help…you are not alone. Groups and classes are open to the public.
Coming to Terms with Loss Tuesdays, April 11–June 13, 2017 6:00–7:30 pm Please call Cheryl at 572-0593 to register.
This group is open to adults experiencing grief due to the death of a loved one. It is educational as well as supportive. Fee: No cost.
Widowed Support Group Wednesdays, April 12–June 14, 2017 Noon–1:30 pm or 6:00–7:30 pm Please call Cheryl at 572-0593 to register.
This group welcomes widows, widowers and partners who are experiencing grief due to the death of their loved one. Fee: No cost.
Grieving Parent’s Support Group Second & fourth Wednesdays of each month in 2017 6:00–7:30 pm Call Craig at (509) 572-8349 for more info or to register.
This group is available to adults experiencing grief due to the death of a child of any age. Fee: No cost.
Cork’s Place for Children, Teens, and Families Ongoing groups meet regularly following the school year.
A support group for parents/guardians meets while the children or teens are in session. Call Heather B. for information, to schedule a tour, or to pre-register a child or teen. (509) 783-7416 or (509) 378-4898.
Chaplaincy Survivors of Suicide First & third Wednesdays of each month starting April 19 6:00–7:30 pm Please call Cheryl at 572-0593 to register.
The loss of a loved one by suicide can be especially traumatic and affects individuals differently. Some choose to attend a group soon after the loss, while others may wait years. Wherever you are in the healing process, we invite you to come and join others who are on the same journey.
NEW First Year and Beyond: Drop-in Support First Thursdays of the month, Noon–1:30 pm Third Mondays of the month, 6:00–7:30 pm Please call Cheryl at 572-0593 for location.
This drop-in format provides support to those who have experienced the death of a spouse or partner without the commitment of a 10-week group. Come share a cup of coffee, tea and refreshments while remembering your loved one and learning about grief. Feel free to invite a grieving friend or family member who has also experienced the death of a spouse or partner.
Understanding Grief ClassThis class is offered monthly. Please call 783-7416 or visit our web site, www.chaplaincyhealthcare.org, for dates and times.
