What’s new in SprutCAM, build 7.1.0.

• Added lathe-milling machining for machines with two turret heads.

Page 2: What’s new in SprutCAM, build 7.1.0.

• Added a new machine scheme of a machine with two turret heads ("Lathe-milling machine (2 turret head)")

Page 3: What’s new in SprutCAM, build 7.1.0.

• Added an example project "Examples\Turn-Milling\DoubleTurret.stc" to demonstrate the Double turret machining.

• Changed the method of lathe tool positioning. The tool is now automatically positioned according to the actual machine item (turret head block) in which the tool is fixed.

• To accommodate to the new tool positioning feature lathe and lathe-milling machines schemes are updated and they now support new tool holders: “Radial lathe tool”, “Axial lathe tool” and “Lathe tool”. The latter is being remarkable for it’s ability to be oriented at arbitrary angles to the lathe axis. A new auxiliary axis is added to machines schemes to support tool angle alteration.

• “Tool fixing direction” – new checkbox on the tool parameters page is added to control whether the tool is fixed directly or inverted.

Page 5: What’s new in SprutCAM, build 7.1.0.

• New tooling point selection mode – “Auto”. In the “Auto” mode the tooling point is determined by the tool type and it’s front and back angles. In majority of cases the right tool edge is selected. Use this option to avoid changing the tooling point manually when changing the tool orientation.

• New workpiece setup method is added. Click the “…” button near the “Workpiece setup” line in the operation parameters inspector. This will open a non-modal dialog window which is used to input offset and rotation of the workpiece relative to the basic coordinate system. The alteration of these parameters is visualized in the graphical window in real-time.

• New parameters added to LoadTl and PPFun TechInfo CLData commands to allow correctly postprocess the CLData of the double turret machining. Use these parameters to define the turret head and turret head block number in which the tool is fixed.

• Postprocessor generator now features a window, visualizing the current CLData command parameters. Double click one of the parameters to add it to the current command code editor.

• New “Cmd” operator added to the Postprocessors generator. Use it to access parameters of the current CLData command.

• Postprocessors generator “CLDFile” operator now allows access to string parameters of CLData commands. Use the “CldFile[<FileIndex>].Cmd[<CmdIndex>].Data” syntax to utilize this feature. Operator returns the value of the single string parameter or the text representation of CLData command. Also the “CLDFile” operator supports all options of the “Cmd” operator but allows access to any CLData command.

• New “ShellExec” operator added to Postprocessors generator. Use it to call external applications or execute operation system commands.

• New “ChangeNCFile” operator added to Postprocessors generator. Use it to change the current output file for postprocessor.

• New Shape tools property added “ID of tool diameter parameter”. If this parameter is set the tool diameter is determined by this parameter, otherwise the diameter is calculated automatically. This option is useful for tools which diameter doesn’t equal the maximum diameter of the generatrix.

• Shape tools creation dialog now features preview of the designed tool. • Shape tools creation is now available in 3D Model mode. Select a contour on the

model and press the “Save contour as Form tool” button or select the “save as tool” item from the popup menu.

• Added feature to set fractional values as numbers of the workpiece coordinate systems, for example “G54.1”, “G55.3”

• The inspector and other input fields now allow convenient modifying of numeric parameters. Select the line and point the cursor on the parameter edit and rotate the mouse wheel. To get a more accurate step hold the “Shift” key while rotating the wheel.

• New Workpiece CS definition means added. Click the “…” button near the Workpiece coordinate system line in the operation parameters inspector to open non-modal dialog to choose the way the workpiece CS is specified. Also the Workpiece CS can be specified interactively. Click the Workpiece CS mark in the graphic window (this will “pick up” the CS) then move the CS to the new position (You don’t need to hold the button) and click the mouse again to put the Workpiece CS in place. While moving the CS it can be snapped to model elements and other coordinate systems.

• If the local coordinate system is used for each hole of the 5D Hole machining operation the “Origin” command additionally passes the hole coordinate system relative to the workpiece coordinate system whether the tool or the table is rotated.

• Added a scheme for the “Matsuura MAM72 25V” machine.

• Fanuc-30i postprocessor added. • Localized Postprocessor generator postprocessor save issue fixed. • New lesson of tutorial about creating simple postprocessor using masks.
