WHAT’S NEW THIS YEAR FOR RETURN HOUSING ROOMMATE GROUPS In order to participate in the Fill Suite process of Return Housing, students will need to create and join a Roommate group. Before creating the Roommate group, you and your desired roommates will select a Group Leader. The Group Leader will create the group and provide the Group Name and password to all confirmed roommates. Every roommate will need to enter the ODU Housing Portal and join the group. Please note that you must complete the Roommate profile page in order to create or join a group. Please log into the ODU Housing Portal by February 2, 2015 to create your Roommate Group. 1. To create a new Roommate group, click on “Create a new group” and then specify the group Name and password. Next click the “Save and Continue” button.

ROOMMATE GROUPS
In order to participate in the Fill Suite process of Return Housing, students will need to create and join a Roommate group. 1. To create a new Roommate group, click on “Create a new group” and then specify the group Name and password. Next click the “Save and Continue” button.
2. After you create the group, the Group Leader will need to verify the group before your roommates can join the group. Click the “verify group” link to verify.
3. Once you receive a message that the group has been successfully verified, click the “Save and Continue” button.
4. Once the group is created and verified, provide the details to your confirmed roommates so they can add themselves to the group you created. Please note only one member of the group will create the Roommate group. The other roommates will join the group.
5. To join an existing Roommate Group, click the “Add yourself to a group” link. You will be redirected to “Join a Group page.

6. Enter the name of the group and the password. Click the “Save and Continue” button.
7. Once you are added to the group, you will be listed on the Roommate Groups page.
8. You can remove yourself from a Roommate group, by clicking on the “Leave this group” link.
9. Once click the “Leave this group” link, you will receive a message confirming your request.
10. Once the student has left a Roommate Group, they will be able to search for another group to join or create one of their own.
11. If you decide that you no longer want the group, click the “Delete this group”. Please note that only the Group Leader can assess the “Delete this group
option”.
12. Once click the “Delete this group” link, you will receive a message confirming
your request.
13. When the Roommate Group has been deleted, you will be able to create another group or search for an existing group to join.
ROOM SWAP If you select a room during the Return Housing process that you no longer want, you can use the Room Swap feature to change your room assignment. You no longer have to contact the Housing Office to cancel your booking and then go back into the ODU Housing Portal to select another room.
1. Enter the ODU Housing Portal and click on Room Swap link and then the preferred building.
2. After you click on the preferred building, click on the preferred floor and then “Save and Continue.
3. Next click on your preferred room and click “Save and Continue’.
4. Once you click “Save and Continue, you will be directed to the Rooms page where you will select a bed-space for yourself and your preferred roommates, if applicable.
5. Once you have selected the bed-space, click the “Reserve Bed” button.
6. Next you will be directed to a Confirmation page. Verify that the information is correct and then click “Confirm”.
