Or agree with other people’s opinions or beliefs even when you really don’t? Negative childhood experiences can lead to a lack of confidence to voice your opinion or say no, or to treating other people as if they are more important that you are. This session will focus on discovering and respecting our boundaries. Yates Springtime at Araluen Thursday 02 September Meet at Tuart Place or Kelmscott train station for a bus trip up to Araluen Botanic Gardens. Yates Springtime has over 150 000 tulips and 30 000 spring blooms this year! Enjoy lunch at the café before the bus trip back. 9.30am – Bus leaves Tuart Place 10.15am – Bus leaves Kelmscott Train Station 10.30am – Arrive at Araluen Botanic Gardens Seats on the bus are limited. Please call Tuart Place to book your place. Cost – FREE! Forests & Logging with Mary-Ann Monday 30 August from 12.45pm Tuart Place counsellor Mary-Ann Oliver recently toured some of our South West forests to see how they are being logged. What she saw was of great concern and moved her to action. Mary-Ann is now a ‘Nanna for Native Forests’ and is busily stitching “leaf” brooches to raise awareness. Come along and find out all about it when Mary-Ann tells the story.

Monday 30 August from 12.45pm Tuart Place counsellor Mary-Ann Oliver recently toured some of our South West forests to see how they are being logged. What she saw was of great concern and moved her to action. Mary-Ann is now a ‘Nanna for Native Forests’ and is busily

stitching “leaf” brooches to raise awareness. Come along and find out all about it when Mary-Ann tells the story.

appointments at Tuart Place. Edwina is a highly experienced Researcher and Librarian with Family History WA – Western Australia’s

Genealogical Society.

Update on the “Real Care the Second Time Around” project with Margo O’Byrne

Monday 16 August from 12.45pm

Margo O’Byrne is a Care Leaver, author and facilitator, who is passionate about improving aged

care services.

In this session, Margo will provide an update on Helping Hand’s ‘Real Care Second Time Around’

project, designed to assist aged care providers to understand and support Care Leavers/Forgotten

Australians.

The project was co-designed with Care Leavers, and has produced a range of resources, including a

brochure with the ‘Top 10 Questions’ to ask when looking for residential aged care
